"Yeah but... Thats what your dad made you do, right? What about you? Isn't there something you want to do for a change?" Baekho's question caught the taller male off guard. He sighed and put the controller down.
"No. All my life I've only been preparing to someday take over the family business and to pass it down to the next in line," Minhyun replied.
"Sounds boring," Baekho said while rolling his eyes.
"What about you then? What do you want to do?"
"Me? I want to have my own shop someday."
"What kind of shop?" Minhyun asked with intrigue. Baekho lifted his legs onto the couch and faced Minhyun with sparkling eyes.
"Any kind. A bakery. Maybe even a fitness centre. Something I can call mine," Baekho replied enthusiastically.
"You don't want to... Take over your family business?" Minhyun asked and Baekho shook his head.
"I'm not interested in that. Sure, I could help my dad but... Its not something I started from scratch myself so I don't really find the fun in that. If it works out, you'll feel way more rewarded right?"
Minhyun never thought about that before. After all, he had never really thought about anything else apart from the path that had already been laid before him. He stared at the grinning male and started to wonder if there was actually something more to this man than he had seen so far. They started chatting instead of playing the game. They talked about their likes, dislikes, hobbies, interests and all sorts of things. The more they talked, the more relaxed Minhyun felt around Baekho and the more he realised they actually weren't shockingly different. They had a lot in common like music tastes for one and while their hobbies were different, they both would enjoy a more relaxing vacation over a stressful action packed one. Minhyun had never actually had a proper friend where he could just talk about anything to before so he found it weird that he was actually having this conversation with someone he had initially disliked. Baekho's laugh was contagious too and Minhyun couldn't help breaking into little smiles at times which Baekho didn't miss of course. He saw each little smile and how Minhyun would lower his head slightly whenever he smiled. Baekho wished he could record this but knew the other would probably become too conscious about his actions and end up being awkward again.
They talked until it was evening and they just both realised that they hadn't eaten anything at all for the entire day.
"Can you cook?" Baekho asked Minhyun as he rolled his sleeves up. He got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen area. Minhyun followed him and shook his head.
"No. I was never allowed into the kitchen before," Minhyun replied honestly. "Can you cook?"
"Just simple dishes. Like ramen, bibimbap or rice cakes."
"Ramen...?" Minhyun muttered. Baekho looked at the other, wondering why he had said that in the tone that he did.
"Yeah. Instant noodles. Don't tell me you have never had them before," Baekho said while pulling out cup noodles. Minhyun squinted and picked it up to read the little box. It was fascinating to him.
"You mean there's noodle in this and you just eat it right from the cup?" Minhyun asked curiously and Baekho started laughing.
"Yes, my Prince. That's called a cup noodle for a reason."
"I've never had one of these. My mother keeps us on a strict diet so all the food I consume is meant to be nutritionally balanced."
"Wait. You don't eat junk food? Chips? Candies?" Minhyun shook his head and Baekho gasped. "You're missing out on a lot. Here, try this." Baekho handed Minhyun a cheese stick and the other seemed baffled.
