Valerie:

It was about 4am and we were still at the club. I kept drinking and drinking while Abel kept me company.

The girls were on the dance floor going crazy, James left me to go and watch his favorite singer on stage.

V: “I don’t like it here. It’s crowded and everyone is wasted. I wanna leave.”

A: “I can take you home.”

V: “That would be great.” I smiled.

A: “Don’t you wanna inform your boyfriend first?”

V: “Naaahhh, I wanna stay away from him.” I got up and tried to stabilize myself.

A: “Let me help you.” He put his arm around my neck and helped me get outside.

People outside were throwing up while others were hooking up.

V: “Don’t take me home. Take me anywhere else, just not here.”

A: “You got it.”

And with that, Abel helped me inside his car and closed the door for me. He got in too and started driving.

Half an hour later, we were up on a cliff. Everything was beautiful up there, the sky, the view, the nature. It made me feel free.

V: “Thank you.” I smiled and and got out of the car.

A: “I heard about this place today, I didn’t know about it. I wanted to come cause it sounded beautiful and now with you it’s even better.” He smiled, making me smile too.

V: “You’re so sweet. I wish my boyfriend was like that.”

Abel took his jacket off and left it down on the ground so we could sit without getting dirty.

A: “What’s up with you two?”

V: “He used to be sooo great and awesome but he has changed and he is a whole different person right now. I don’t want the new him. I hate being in this relationship, I know it’s not gonna last.”

A: “Then break up with him.”

V: “He gave me this tonight.” I showed him the promise ring. “It's a promise ring, but I’m sure everything he promised was just bullshit.”

A: “Has he done something to hurt you?”

V: “He's been distant and cold and all of the sudden, this. It just seems fake.”

A: “I wish there was something I could do.”

V: “There is something I can do.”

I looked at the ring one more time before taking it off my finger and throwing it down the cliff. I just wanted him out of my life.

A: “That was a bold move.”

V: “I want this to be done.”

A: “I understand.”

V: “I just wanna try something new, someone with different interests and different lifestyle.”

I turned around and looked at him. He was looking at the sun rising and he looked really good.

Maybe he was the new thing I wanted to try. He might act all sweet now  but his songs say otherwise.

I felt the urge to kiss him. I wanted to feel someone else on top of me, someone else’s lips touching mine. I was craving him but I had to stay loyal.
