Our so-called honeymoon was short-lived. Happy was calling and banging on the door first thing the next morning after what should have been our party. "Oh my god, what?" I snapped, answering Kozik's phone.

"Tell your Old Man we gotta go! He ran off last night before I could tell him about the run," Happy told me.

"Yeah, how dare we want some alone time."

"That's why I waited."

"Alright. I'll pass on the message."

They were gone in half an hour.

I got up and looked at the paper. It didn't escape my notice that there was a story about some dead Russians. It didn't take much to put two and two together. I made coffee and started cleaning the house. Sometimes it was easier to clean up when it was just me at home. Truthfully, it was a nice distraction when he was away.

Later that afternoon, I went by the clubhouse to see if Jax was there, but only a Prospect, Rat, Lyla, and Tara were there with the boys. (Have I mentioned that I have yet to actually meet my new nephew?)

"I'll just go," I said, backing out of the room quickly. "Tell Jax to call me, Rat!" I yelled.

"Yes ma'am!"

"Wait, Diana!" Tara called, chasing after me. "Can we talk?" she asked when she caught up to me at my car.

When I turned around to face her, Rat was standing in the doorway, with Abel at his knee. I looked at Tara and sighed. "Say whatever it is you have to say. I'll listen, but I can't promise much else." I crossed my arms over my chest, resisting the urge to rest my arm lower to protect my stomach.

She seemed to relax a bit. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry," she said. "I know what I did was wrong. I was so stressed out with everything, add in the hormones, and I just snapped."

I leaned back against my SUV, debating on what to say. "What do you want from me?" I asked.

"I'm sorry?"

"What do you want from me?" I repeated. "Actually, better yet, what result are you hoping to obtain from this conversation?"

Tara sighed and stepped closer. "I don't know," she admitted. "Jax wants us to clear the air."

"What do you want?"

"I'd like for us to be in the same room again," she replied. "People think you're constantly on the verge of jumping me."

"I'd be well within my rights," I told her.

"Yeah, but I know you're smarter than that. You know what Jax would do." I'd like to think she'd never say that to me if she knew the full story.

"And you have precious little idea what Happy is truly capable of," I replied. "You should really check your attitude, honey. You're missing one very key piece of information. You have no high ground, and my brother isn't going to protect you this time."

Before she could respond, I kept going, too angry for my filter to kick in. I got in her face, "You took the one thing from me that I really want. There's nothing you could ever do to make that right!" I looked up momentarily, to check the door of the clubhouse. Rat and Abel were gone.

"You were pregnant," she said, looking down at the ground.

"I didn't even know it at the time. The doctors found out when they happened to do an ultrasound to check for internal bleeding while I was having plastic surgery!" I snapped.
