The deal with the cartel had Kozy away a lot. Most of the time that he was gone has blurred together in my memory. I know I worked a lot, and I remember being sad about how many nights I had to sleep alone. There were some big events that do stick out in my mind...

One morning, I got a call from Opie. He wanted me to come to the clubhouse at the crack of dawn. He needed to talk to me.

When I got there, Miles was making coffee. "Where's Opie?" I asked.

"Dorm," he replied.

"Thanks!" I yelled on my way back.

I knocked on the door, "Ope?"

"I'll be out in a minute!" he called.

"Who is that?" I heard a woman ask.

I stood, leaning against the opposite wall, wanting to see who was in there, because I knew it wasn't Lyla. When Ope opened the door, I saw one of Luann's girls sitting on the bed in her underwear.

Ope was half-dressed, wearing only a pair of sweatpants. He led me down the hall to Koz's room, and closed the door behind me. "Do I want to know?" I asked.

"I want to know what you know," he snapped.

"Excuse me?"

"You're friends with Lyla. Did you know she was on birth control?" Opie asked. "The entire time I've been trying to have a kid, she's been on the pill behind my back!"

I took a deep breath. "I didn't know, Ope. If I did, I'd have told her to talk to you about it." He sat down on the bed. "You're my brother. That beats any friendship I have with her. She knows that, which is probably why she didn't say anything."

Ope groaned and buried his face in his hands. "What the hell am I supposed to do?"

"Do you want my advice?"

"Sure," he nodded.

I pulled the desk chair close and sat down. "You have to talk to her. Tell her how you feel."

"I feel like marrying her was a mistake," he admitted. "I miss Donna."

"I do too," I replied.

"Donna had her shit together," Ope mumbled.

I got up from the chair, "Talk to Lyla. Screwing around on her isn't going to help your situation. You're either in this, or you're not. Be honest with yourself, and be honest with her. You know your family will support you either way."

I walked out into the hall, and back to Opie's room. I opened the door, and the porn star was still in bed. Ope wasn't far behind me. "I'd go, if I were you. I'm the sane one out of the women in my family. If the others find you, they're liable to lose their shit."

Ope appeared over my shoulder, "She's not wrong." He pushed past me into the room.

"Well, I'm gonna go have coffee," I told him. "You should get dressed and come join me."

"Sure," he mumbled.

I walked out to the bar, and asked Miles for some coffee. "Should you be drinking coffee?" he asked.

I glared. "I'm not pregnant yet. Let me keep one of my vices."

"Yes ma'am." He slid a full mug to me across the bar.

"Thank you." I turned toward the door when someone else came into the clubhouse.

"What are you doing here?" Jax asked. "It's barely eight a.m."

"Ope called me," I yawned.

"Is he here?"

"Dorm, but can I ask you something first?"
