The doors slammed behind her, leaving Clary alone in a small candlelit room with a large window which looked out towards the courtyard she had just been in. The courtyard which had been full was now barren and empty, leaving no trace of where Jace and the others had disappeared to. She closed her watery eyes and lay her head against the hard stone wall.
"Jace," she whispered.
Thoughts of Jace ran though her mind. All she could think about was his soft golden hair and honey coloured eyes staring with pain, as she stood next to Sebastian; as his Queen.
She let herself fall to the cold floor and ran her hand through her messy red hair.
"There was no other way," she said to herself " If I didn't stay with Sebastian, we- we would all die" She began to sob, she curled up into a tiny ball and hugged her knees. She thought of Simon, her mother, Luke, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus, Jace and their faces of sorrow and hate for Sebastian when he kissed her, in front of them all.
"Ugh!" Clary cried. Clenching her fist and slamming it into the wall, her vision blurred and her heartbeat fastened. "Forgive me, forgive me, forgive me-"
Clary woke up sprawled on the floor, she rubbed her eyes and lifted herself up. She had fallen asleep. Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door. It swung open and banged into the wall beside it. A figure walked in and knelt beside her.
"Wake up little sister, you can't sleep forever." said a soft voice.
Sebastian.
Clary did not reply. She looked away from him and crossed her arms, she began to shake with fear. In the corner of her eye she saw his menacing smile fade into a stern pout.
"Get up." He said forcefully raising an eyebrow.
She did not move. Sebastian reached out and tugged her by the arm and with his strength, pulled her upright.
"Not so hard was it?" He asked sarcastically.
"No not at all." Clary replied sternly.
He walked around Clary, eyeing her from head to toe. The hairs at the back of her neck rose, she spun to face him.
"Where are the others?" she said quietly.
"All things in good time," he laughed.
She raised her hand threateningly, he caught it and held it down to her side.
"What did you do to them?" She said louder with force.
Sebastian sighed and pushed her into the wall behind her, her head hit the wall and he caged himself around her.
"Did your mother ever teach you to be -".
"Our mother," Clary hissed between her teeth.
"You don't know when to keep quiet, do you?" He leaned close to Clary, his breath tickled her ear when he spoke. It made her shiver.
Sebastian laughed and kissed her gently on her forehead. Clary began to wriggle out of his grasp. He gripped her on the side of her arms and held her. His face was close to hers, their noses touching. He stared into her piercing green eyes, then at her lips. Clary shivered. He leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers. Clary felt his chest rise and fall against her, she pushed him away; but he was to strong. Sebastian pinned her arms against the wall behind her and brushed his lips against her neck. Clary chewed the inside of her cheek. The back of her head throbbed with pain from earlier. With an immense strength she threw her head forward and knocked it into his. He stumbled back in surprise and spat; his grip was still on her.
In the dim light of the corridor, she saw another figure walk towards the door, it stood by the entrance.
"That, was not wise Clarissa." Sebastian snarled pressing her into the wall.
She began to breath heavily and her hair plastered to her body with sweat. Through the corner of her eye, Clary saw the dark figure again. It was a boy. A boy with wispy gold curls, broad shoulders and dark runes carved on his skin.
Jace.
Clary gasped, her eyes locked with Jace's. His were filled with anger and bitter hatred for Sebastian, whilst Clary's were filled with fear. He took two steps into the small room, his footsteps echoed around him. Sebastien turned around; but Jace had already pounced.
