Jace's Pov:
It was dark, too dark. The only light that could be seen was from the great windows of Sebastian's fortress or from the glowing eyes and mystic skin of wandering demons. Jace camouflaged himself into the darkness, he was just another wandering shadow- Clary's shadow. Jace crossed path to path, finding his way in struggle. His only hope was to find the others. Only then could they be safe. As he hid crouched behind a small crumpling wall, Jace heard the distant sounds from a window above in the fortress.
"Great. I'm just going to die here stuck in a filthy room with you lot! Honestly my plan was to die of glitter overdose- but no!" Magnus's voice boomed loudly.
Jace sniggered to himself and began to sneak in the direction of his voice.
"Alec can you tell Magnus to cut the crap!" Simon yelled.
Jace looked over his shoulder and turned down towards a patio. The walls around the patio had a glimmering light and inside were the shadows of people. They were here.
He began to climb up the wall. He climbed higher and higher, suddenly, he reached up for a piece of the wall which stuck out- it instantly broke off and toppled down. Jace clung for his life with one hand. He then used all his strength and hauled himself up and began to climb again. His eyes narrowed in concentration, he took a deep breath every time he moved one arm higher.
"Can we all just keep calm," Luke's voice projected.
"This is getting us nowhere." Jocelyn.
"Does no one realise Jace escaped the endarkened hours ago and hasn't returned?!" Alec.
"He could be-"
"Don't say it!" Alec's voice crackled as he spoke.
Jace had a strong bond with Alec, one can only have with his or her parabati. He knew if anything happened to Alec or himself, neither of them would ever be the same or ever recover from each other's loss.
"What about Clary?" Simons voice squeaked.
There was a boom of voices all speaking different things. Jace pushed one last time and reached up to the windowsill. He hauled himself onto his feet and carved an opening rune with his stele.
'How has no one noticed I'm here?' Jace thought to himself.

Suddenly the strong, almost indestructible bars of the window flew open. Everyone silenced and turned to face him. Their faces were shocked and their eyes glistened with hope.
"By the angel you all are louder than murderous ducks on a Friday night." Jace said smirking at them.
They all sighed with relief and bustled with praise.
"By the angel, your okay." Izzy gasped reaching for him.
He smiled back and tried to reach her- when he noticed a strange force separated them all. He instantly bumped into it as he moved forward. In the room there were no walls, you could see perfectly clear to the corridor outside, but a shimmering transparent force stopped all means of escape. He bent to the floor and carved another opening rune. All the barricades and forcefields came down except for the one which let them leave to the outside and the corridor.
"Thanks," Alec said walking to him and patting his back.
Magnus hauled himself from the floor, he had cuffs on his wrists to stop him from moving or using his powers. They all huddled together in the centre of the room.
"Is Clary okay?" Simon asked intently.
Jace paused, then finally replied. "I don't know."
Simons face turned cold and lifeless, his eyes turned to sorrow. Jace for once understood how he felt, to know someone you love is being held against their will and their is nothing you can do about it.
Jace composed himself, "I brought weapons and seraph blades,"
Quickly he handed them out, giving each person an item to defend themselves with.

They all stood ready, they began to heal each other with iratzes and gave eachother strength and complex runes. It was all coming together- except they had no idea how to get out of the room.
"We could climb out the window?" Luke suggested.
"Most of you wouldn't even make the climb down," Jace replied, swiftly nodding at Magnus, who was bouncing across the room hazily, attempting to remove his chains.
"What about the forcefield?" Simon cut in, "you can use a rune?"
"This forcefield wasn't created with runes from the grey book Simon," Izzy added. "There's no way we could undo it without stronger runes,"
They stood there puzzled waiting for an explanation. Until Magnus's face burst with light.
"I know!" He said. All eyes turned to him. "Take off my chains and I might be able to get us out."
"You're not strong enough!" Alec protested, he whipped round to face him with great concern.
"I don't care," Magnus looked straight at him. "I'll do whatever it takes to save you. All I need is your strength."
Alec blushed slightly and his mouth twitched slightly upwards. His eyes softened and his parted lips shut tight.
"Then what do we do?" Jace asked.
"We wait." Jocelyn said firmly.
"Wait?" They all said in sync.
"Yes. If anything Clary's coming to save us, we know she is. All we have to do is wait."
They all shrugged and agreed. Jace rested his head on the wall.
"Come on Clary," he murmured under his breath. "I believe in you."
