It had been a week after the attack. they sure got the warning across, ill tell you that.

I missed Adam. but I know Adam would never want me to be sad, not even for a moment.

just live your life.

act like nothing happened.

people were very shaken about the event.

officers that where there often try to see if I was ok when they visit the tavern.

I can't show weakness, they will think all women are weak. be strong. Be strong for Adam.

the war was getting worse for the Patriots, they still haven't had any victories. I thought we would be on the ups with this war, but at any moment, this fragile house of cards Washington built can come crashing down. we were weak. they need something, SOMEONE. that's it. I'm writing to Washington. I don't care what anyone says. whatever position Washington puts me in will be fine, its better than not helping at all.

I'm going to write to Washington.

Dear George Washington,

Sir-- my name is y/n l/n, I am a resident of Setauket new york. As you may know, recently a man by the name Adam Thomas had been shot by rebel soldiers. That man was a good friend of mine and was shot in my tavern in front of me. though I can not dwell on the topic now, I will say that it was a tremendous loss. I believe that I can be a great asset to this war even as a female. Please just take a chance on me. I will be happy with whatever position you put me in, as long as I'm fighting for our country.

In warm regards,

Y/n l/n
