A/n
This is all a dream but it still relates to the story, but this won't greatly affect the plot, but it will help explain the next chapter. In this dream Adam is alive.
----------------------------------------
*you're in the tavern*
"Two ales!" One of the only two people in the tavern yelled at me.
I was closing up, cleaning tins and fixing taps. I just had these two men left and then I could go home for the night.
"Coming up!" I shouted back.
I turned away for a moment to grab some new tins when someone bursts into the tavern.
"I'll be closing soon so quickly put in your-" I said, not facing the person who busted in before getting cut off.
"Y/n, come quick, it's your mom."
I froze in my tracks and finally turned around.
"Adam? What happened?"
"Just follow me."
He said quickly.
Completely disregarding the other people in the tavern, I left with Adam.
When we walked outside the air was a lot denser than it was that morning and I heard yelling and gunshots.
"Adam, what's happening?!" I said urgently.
"Y/n, I have no idea but we have to move faster," Adam replied. Adam looked around quickly and started jogging, I followed behind him.
After a bit of running, I finally caught a glimpse of what was happening.
I saw men in blue uniforms and men in red uniforms fighting. There was a full-on war happening in front of me. That's when Adam stopped and looked at me.
"I think he's still in there so I'm gonna need you to keep quiet" he whispered and started walking as carefully as he could.
"Adam, who is still there what is happening?!" I whispered back, steadying my steps.
"No time to explain." He muttered.
We made it in front of my mother's house and stopped. Adam opened the door that, surprisingly, didn't make any noise.
I followed Adam inside and saw multiple men ransacking my house and my mom on the ground with blood coming from somewhere around her shoulder.
The second I saw her I gasped and Adam quickly covered my mouth, but not quickly enough.
A soldier that I didn't see drew his gun at me. It was Benjamin, but for some reason, he felt like a completely different person, I didn't know the man I was looking at.
"Mom!" I said through sobs, trying to get to her. Adam put his arms around me, trying to shove me out of the house.
He finally got me out and grabbed me by the arm and started running, I quickly followed suit.
When I looked back I saw the soldier running after us.
"Adam, he's coming!" I said.
Adam quickly looked behind us.
"Shit!" He said, loud enough for me to hear.
We were fast, but the soldier was faster.
I soon felt a tug at my free hand and I was swiftly pulled into a chokehold.
Adam tried to tug for me but failed.
"Adam, keep going!' I yelled before Adam could get captured too.
He ran, I could tell he didn't want to leave me.
"who the hell are you lady?!" Yelled the man holding me.
" y/n l/n, resident of Setauket!" I yelled back, trying to pry his arm from my neck.
That's when I felt cold metal touch the side of my head. He had a gun on my Temple.
"Please, I don't have money. Please just let me go!" I pleaded, trying to reason with the man.
He ignored my yelling and started moving, walking us back to my mother's house. My pleads being mixed with the screams of war.
We made it there, me still clawing at his arms and my tears falling onto his uniform.
He stood in front of my mom, forcing me to look at her. I started sobbing harder, trying to close my eyes so I didn't have to look at the horrific sight of my mom's condition.
"Sir, please! She'll bleed to death if she doesn't get any help!" I pleaded.
"Quiet, lady." He quickly replied in a cold, dark tone.
Soon he let me go and threw me to the ground.
I went to my mom and wailed at the sight of her lifeless corpse.
That's when I felt someone pull me up. They threw against the wall, I let out another sob.
It was ben, he looked so... Evil.
"I'll grant you mercy," he said. He pulled his gun on me, I heard the sound of a gunshot and it all went dark.

"*gasp*" I woke up In a cold sweat, breathing heavily.
I faced forward and caught Benjamins, who was apparently already awake, eye.
"Good morning." He said with a sweet smile.
"G-good morning..."
