This whole week felt like a dream. Polly didn't want to take sides so she tried to divide her time with the both of you since you hadn't talked it out yet. You assured her that it's fine she spent more time with Kat as long as you hung out at her place on your usual day. You got tired of all the boy talk quick enough and tried to find some other company. It was the last day of the week and you were glad it was almost weekend.

You drop your tray of inedible cafeteria food on the table. You are greeted by some confused faces but one of the girls looked glad to see you.
'What made you bless us with your presence?' Robin Buckley says cynically as you sit down, the other girls went back to eating their food, but not before giving you dirty looks.
'I just need some female energy.' You say as you look at your usual table. You see Mike throwing a piece of ham to Lewis, almost hitting him in the face. You roll your eyes.
Robin looks back at you. 'You know Steve's been whining about you all week.'
You sigh and throw yourself back in your seat. 'He doesn't do anything except for whine.'
'But seriously, Y/N.' She looks you into your eyes and holds her sandwich to her mouth.
'Make up with your friend. Fighting about boys is stupid, and you know it.' She says and takes a bite.
You grab your fork and stick it into the mashed potatoes. As you hold the fork vertical and "lick" the food off your fork you make eye contact with Billy. Your heart races for a second before you catch yourself. Why the fuck is that my reaction? He keeps his face straight and continues staring. You break eye contact and bring your attention back to Robin, whose hyped energy is quite contagious. You haven't really talked to Billy all week, he tried multiple times to start some conversation but you kept him hanging as you were trying to show Kat that she's more important than him, to his irritation. You spend the rest of your lunch talking and laughing with Robin.
'Hey, Y/N?' Robin says as you stand up to go outside. 'Yeah?' You say as you swing your bag over your shoulder.
'Do you want to grab some coffee tomorrow?' She asks, blushing a bit. You think for a moment.
'Yeah sure.' You smile and grab your tray. You walk away when you hear the bell ring.

Stepping on your motorcycle you see Billy walking up to you. He stops in front of you and puts one hand in his pocket.
'You free tonight?' He says as he gives you a little smile.
'What for?' You say, suspicious of his motives.
'I want to take you somewhere.' He takes a drag from his cigarette.
'No thanks.' You say as you put your helmet on, determent to prove Kat your loyalty.
His smirk quickly fades, he's probably not used to being told no. You make your engine roar a couple of times before driving away, speeding past Billy.

Your Friday nights were mostly filled with party's or hanging around at someone's place. But tonight it was just you alone. You lick the paper and close the joint you're rolling. You wipe the spilt tobacco off your bed and stick the joint in your mouth. You walk to the desk to grab your lighter and then go to your window, opening it all the way. Soon you feel the familiar tingling sensation in your body as you start smoking. You're just looking at the sky when some sound from down the street catches your attention.
'Well, well.' Billy says and walks through the gate of your backyard, to under your window.
You chuckle and just stare at him, continuing to smoke.
'I thought you had something to do?' Billy asks.
You hang out of your window more to be heard better. 'I'm doing something.'
You can see his brain working around the fact that you had nothing important to do and still wouldn't go out with him. 'What are you doing out anyway?'
'I was just going for a walk.' He says quickly.
You sigh, knowing he just wanted to get out of the house because of his dad probably.
'The door is unlocked if you want to come in.' You say and close the window.

A minute later you hear him come up the stairs. You stand up and open your door.
'In here.' You say and see Billy on the other side of the hallway. You leave the door open and sit on your bed, leaning against the headboard. Billy closes the door behind him, takes his jacket off, throws it on your bed and sits in your desk chair. You scoot closer to the edge of your bed to tick the ashes off in the ashtray on your nightstand. You hand him the joint and lay on your side with your head on the pillow.
'That's quite the outfit.' Billy says as he looks at your oversized sweater with a crazy blue and pink pattern on it, your fuzzy pink socks and shorts.
'Yeah, I secretly like pink a lot.' You chuckle. You look at Billy taking a long drag from the joint. You can see some red marks around his wrist and his knuckles are red and have formed scabs on them. Jeez. You stare at it for a little too long and Billy takes notice. Billy clears his throat and you quickly look away, turning to lay on your back.
He sighs deeply and gives the joint back to you. You hear the sound of the chair creaking as Billy almost nervously moves in it, making it move from left to right and back again.
'He...' Billy starts and you look at him. He presses his lips together and looks around the room.
'It was bad today.' He looks down at the ground, folding his hands. You've never seen him this vulnerable before. You study his face.
'What made it worse?' You ask carefully, not wanting to pry, but wanting him to get this off his chest.
He snickers. 'He went drinking with his friends and got pretty fucking drunk.'
Your eyes are feeling heavy but you do your best to keep your mind clear for this conversation. You take a quick glance at the clock, it's 10 PM.
'And it just makes him more angry.' He shakes his head. You hear the door creak open and your cat swiftly walks in the room. 'She was sitting in front of the door.' Felix pokes his head through the gap. You and Billy stare at him without saying a word.
'Hello.' He awkwardly says and combs his black hair out of his face. 'Open up a window before dad gets home.' And without saying anything more he closes the door. You grunt as you stand up and open the window again, letting some cool air come in the room. Billy stares at you with disbelieve. 'We usually smoke together. He's chill, don't worry.' You say to make him feel better.
Instead of going straight to her usual spot, Obi spends some time rubbing her head on Billy's legs.

'She's very fond of you.' You smile and look at Obi and hear her purr.
You stare at your cat for a while and your thoughts start to wonder off.
'I'm sorry your dad treats you this way.' You lift up your head and look into Billy's eyes. 'Really.'He takes a long drag from the joint, not responding to you.

You suddenly hear a girl yelling from outside. Billy's head jolts up. He stands up quickly and walks to the window.
'Is that Max?' You say, suddenly being very alert and aware of the fact you hadn't seen Chris in a while.
'I think it's Max.' Billy says as if he didn't hear your question. He starts walking to the door, forgetting his jacket. Obi once more confused by all the movement and noise.
You quickly follow Billy outside.
