Chapter 6

Phoenix's P.O.V

I was outside enjoying the fresh air gripping my bow and arrow in my hands planning on having a bit of relaxing time. I sighed pulling back an arrow before letting it fly through the air hitting the target making a perfect bulls eye...no shocker there considering who my father is. I smirked to myself before feeling someone hug me behind planting a kiss on my cheek " You never stray away from your routine do you? " Carlos said as I turned to him wrapping my arms around his neck " No, I'm afraid not...I am my father's daughter after all " I said laughing gently kissing his lips " Isn't it someone's birthday tomorrow?" he asked resting his forehead on mine as I smiled " I'm just happy you remembered, because there were some instances that Ben, whom I consider as a brother figure, would forget " I said looking away as Carlos lifted my chin so I could make eye contact with him " Why wouldn't I remember you're my girlfriend, the love of my life so I would never forget your birthday...and don't feel to bad, I mean at least you're family actually cared enough to remember yours " he said causing me to frown before pulling him into a hug " Let's not bring that up...okay? The point is that Me,Mal,Evie,and Jay love you and that's all that matters " I said caressing his cheek causing his smile to return " What about me? " A voice said ruining the moment catching my attention in the process " Oh and Dude loves you too " I said kneeling down and running my fingers through his scruffy brown fur as Carlos joined me.

I stood up looking down at my phone seeing a message from Mal causing me to frown before looking to Carlos worry clouding my eyes " Maleficent's scepter and the Queen's crown have been stolen " I said my frown still evident on my face causing Carlos to pull me into his embrace stroking my hair to sooth me " hey, calm down...Deep breaths okay? " he whispered as I did as told taking deep breaths to calm down " I need to go find Evie and Mal..I'll see you soon okay " I said kissing his cheek " Phoenix! " Carlos called causing me to stop in my tracks turning on my heel to look at him " I love you and be careful " he said as I smiled running into his arms kissing him passionately " I love you too and I will I promise " I said before taking off into a sprint to find Mal and Evie. I sighed entering the room where Mal and Evie were " Who else knows about the crown and scepter? " Evie asked patting a place for me to sit beside her but I politely decline and stuck to leaning against the wall listening to what was being said " No one. I mean, think about it people are scared enough as it is. Phoenix gets too overwhelmed with stuff like this and we-" Mal started before I cut her off looking slightly offended " Then why did you two let me know about this? If you knew I got overwhelmed when these things happen " I stated keeping my voice down " Because Phoenix, You are one of my closest friends and not to mention Ben sees you as a sister, so I felt the need to tell you " Mal explained as I took the explanation with any protest and urged her to continue.

I leaned against the wall looking outside as Mal continued with what she was saying before I interrupted her " We have to employ these entirely new security measures " Mal said folding her arms over her chest " So...will this delay bringing over new Vks " I asked curiosity, honestly not prepared for the answer " We're talking about closing the barrier for good " Mal answer causing me to push myself off the wall and began pacing around not really knowing what to think " But you said no " Evie said abruptly looking at Mal as I stopped pacing for a split second. Mal only looked at us staying silent ' oh no ' I thought thinking of the worse case scenario " I mean, the four of us are living the dream here and we finally get to share that. What could be more important than that " Evie said as I looked at her my hand on my hip looking outside " Security or piece of mind of in Auradon " Mal said as I leaned against the wall trying to make sense of this situation " Is that what they're thinking " Evie asked as I walked closer to Mal " Are they seriously thinking that no one will go in and out of the Isle ever again? " I asked turning to Evie who was mimicking my frown " What, we never get to go back to see our parents? " she asked as I finally sat down placing my head in my hands " And what about these kids? We promised them they will get to go back and visit whenever they wanted " Evie continued standing up and taking Mal's hands as I stood up " There has to be another solution to ensure Auradon's safety, because I have never broke my promises before and I'm not gonna start now " I stated getting up crossing my arms over my chest.

Evie sent a smile towards me as I made my way closer to the two letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding " M, I am so glad that you are going that you are going to be queen, " I started looking to Evie to continue " You will be apart of these conversations , You will stand up for the Vks " Evie continued for me " Thank you for telling us " I said as both me and Evie hugged Mal " You'll be a great queen " Evie smiled at Mal as I walked out of the room saying goodbye to both Mal and Evie before heading home.
