Chapter 9

Mal's P.O.V 

     I walked out the house with my present that I was gonna give Phoenix in my hand that is if we didn't already miss her party. I turned seeing Audrey wearing this ridiculous villainous looking outfit wearing the Queen's crown and holding the scepter " I was hoping you were home " Audrey said walking closer to me as I scoffed " is this a joke? what are you doing with the crown and scepter " I asked her as she grew confused for a split second " Well I wanted them so I took them you of all people should understand that Mal " she said as she leaned with the scepter. I put my bag down " Wait, Audrey Stop! Don't use that! " I warned her or you know attempted to as you can imagine it didn't go over to well cause she only looked at me with a smirk " I thought you liked spells " Audrey said with that same smirk on her face " Okay, Audrey you're better " I started but she only cut me off " QUIET! " she screamed turning away from me " It's not a toy it's dangerous " I tried to warn again but she turned back on me with angry expression on her face " I want to be dangerous my life was perfect until you stole it and then Auradon turned it's back on me " She said as I stood there speechless not really knowing how to respond to that " Well it's time for a little payback " she said slamming the scepter down as I cover my face turning into a old lady in the process. 

       Audrey laughed evil-like at my appearance enjoying the sight that was presented to her " You think Ben will love you now you old hag " she said happily before her smile slowly faded away turning into a angry expression " You'll pay the price for what you did, so will all of Auradon " Audrey stated as Celia, Jay,Evie,and Carlos ran outside to see what the commotion was " So long suckers " Audrey said laughing evil as she disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Jay was about to help me but yelped when he saw my appearance " You might want to think of a spell for that " he said as I looked at him " There's no spell that can reverse the curse of the scepter " I said in my old lady voice " Well that's a shame " Carlos said as he casted his gaze downward " Forget about me Audrey's out for revenge all of Auradon is in danger " I said slowly as Evie turned to me with a worried expression " What should we do? " Evie asked as I thought for a minute on what we could possibly do that was until I remembered Hades Ember " The only thing more powerful than the scepter is Hades Ember " I said as Jay rolled his eyes at my statement " Oh like he's just gonna hand it over " Jay said a bit of sarcasm lacing his the tone in his voice " No one know where his lair is " Evie said and she did have a point until someone spoke up " I do, I'm his errand rat. I've got the key at my dad's " Celia said giving us the answer we needed. 

     I just simply looked at her before pointing at her " you're coming " I stated simply as she frowned backing away with a ' do I have to go ' look on her face " But I just got here " she complained but said nothing further already knowing she had to go since she was the only one that knew where his lair was.  

Carlos's P.O.V 

      I was silently panicking to myself, What if Audrey had gotten to Phoenix? I needed to know she was okay before I even agreed to anything " Guys what about Phoenix? Do you think Audrey already got to her " I asked as Evie looked at me with a worried look " I hope not " she said and about that moment a certain red-haired fox hybrid made herself known " Carlos! Thank goodness you're alright " she said running into my arms as I picked her up and spun her around kissing her forehead " Phoenix!  Oh my gosh baby, I was so worried about you " I said as she looked at me with a smile before pulling out of my embrace taking my hands in hers " You didn't show and I thought that you forgot my party or Audrey must've gotten to you " She said as I cupped her cheek brushing her hair out of her eyes " I would never forget your birthday and I'm sorry I forgot to call " I said in response as she wrapped her arms around my neck gazing into my eyes as I gazed into her  beautiful mesmerizing chestnut brown eyes that showed nothing but concern and love for me " I'm so glad you're alright, I love you more than life " We chorused together before I placed a slow gentle kiss on her lips. 

       Our moment was interrupted by a someone clearing their throat causing us to break away and look at our friends. Phoenix looked at me confused " Uh...What happened to Mal " she asked as I turned to her " Audrey spelled her with the scepter " I  explain as Phoenix nodded in understanding " We really need to get going here " Celia said as Jay and I ran into the house to get changed into our isle outfits. Before I was fully in the house I turned back to look at Phoenix who sent a reassuring smile towards me " You sure you're gonna be fine " I asked as she walked to me kissing my cheek " With you by my side I'll be just fine love " she said before heading beside Evie as I smiled before heading to get changed. 

Phoenix's P.O.V

      I looked to Evie who was bent over to Mal's height with a frown on her face. I fiddled with my necklace in nervousness not knowing what to say in this situation " I've said this before and I'll say it til the day I die, You and Carlos are so cute together...Phoenix you make him happy I honestly never see him as happy as he is when he's around you and Dude " Evie said as Mal nodded or at least the best that she could given the state she was in " How bad is it? " Mal asked looking for an honest answer as Evie looked at me expectantly " Ben is a very lucky man to have a beautiful girl like you as his queen " I said as Evie smiled at her " You age beautifully, now let's get you into something fabulous " Evie said as we began to walk in the house but stopped short when we notice that Mal was a little...slow. I looked to Evie with a knowing look before we both headed towards Mal to help her in the house. She patted my hand and smiled at me as I laughed at her " Okay Mal, your gonna have to keep your eyes forward hon. Last we need is you falling " I said as she rolled her eyes but not the less did as told.
