Chapter 10

Phoenix's P.O.V

      I looked in the mirror at my outfit with a slight smile before grabbing my bow and retying my quiver on my hip before meeting the others. Carlos smiled at me before kissing my cheek " Um...Aren't you forgetting something " I said glaring at him playfully crossing my arms over my chest " Happy birthday baby girl " Carlos said before pecking my lips causing me to smile at him as we interlocked hands and headed to our bikes where the others were patiently waited " There you are, about time " Jay said as I smacked his arm " shut up Jay " I said rolling my eyes at him before climbing on my bike and putting my hot pink and black helmet on. We rode our bikes to the edge of a cliff looking out onto the ocean " Noble stead proud and fair you shall take us anywhere " she said before we began to ride over the water towards the Isle. I felt my chest tighten but I ignored taking a deep breath before parking my bike beside Carlos's. I took my helmet off interlocking my hands with Carlos " Hey I'm me again " Mal said touching her face and looking at her hands. Celia only rolled her eyes at her before responding " Duh evil magic doesn't work here kind of the point " she said as Evie wrapped her arm around Mal's shoulder with a soft smile "welcome back " Evie said as Celia led us to her Father's old shop. I looked around nervously a little bit paranoid than I was the first time I came here. 

        Carlos noticed this and moved his hand up my arm snaking around my waist pulling me closer to him. I laid my head on his shoulder " Phoenix, look at me...I promise I won't let anything happen to you okay " he whispered cupping my face in his hands before planting kiss on my forehead as I sighed feeling safe in his arms. Celia made her own beat on the door having someone respond to it. She did it again before the door finally opened and she looked at us with a smile. I looked at Carlos nervously before walking into the shop " Daddy! " Celia called running over and hugging her father " Here she is " Dr. Facilier greeted his daughter before they began to a little dance together causing me to smile at them laying my head on Carlos's shoulder " feeling better? " he asked as I nodded looking up at him a slight smirk " much better " I responded interlocking our hands together " But only because you're here with me " I continued holding our hands up and planting a kiss on the back of his as he mimicked my actions with a soft smile on his face. 

      While Celia went to grab the key to Hades lair Carlos and I headed to the TV while the others looked around the place. I stood beside Carlos as he sat down to watch the News report that came across the TV " Alerts of the sleeping spell keep coming in as it spreads throughout Auradon " The reporter announced making my blood turn cold " My parents " I mumbled worry clouding my eyes knowing she probably had gotten to them and Lucille " Uh guys come look at this " Carlos said pulling everyone's attention to the device in front of us as I started to panic on the inside " There are rumors that Sleeping beauty's daughter is behind the spell. We're trying to discover who is responsible for these vicious lies and which villain perpetrated this evil. We have an update.It's what? It's moving this way?  It is moving this way!" The man shouted as I started breathing heavily " Phoenix, Phoenix, look at me okay? " Carlos said placing my hand to his chest " Breath, deep breaths okay? " he said soothingly as I began to catch my breath calming down a bit. Evie turned to Mal with a worried look " We need to get that Ember and get home before Phoenix has another panic attack " she said as I shook my head trying to erase all the bad thoughts. Carlos kissed my temple easing my nerves a bit more before we headed outside " Wow rookie mistake " Carlos said as we saw the enemies on our bikes " Long time nay see " Harry said tauntingly as my eyes locked on Janis who had a wicked smirk on her face " Well Well Well if isn't Phoenix Hood " Janis said as I growled at her my blood boil " Get off my bike hook " Jay threatened as we began to run towards them. 

       They began to drive off laughing at us as I growled before picking up speed " Catch me if you can Jay " Harry said a taunting smile on his face which in all reality irritated Jay. In one split second my fear dissipate and was replaced with anger. Jay looked at us " Over the roofs cut them off " he demanded as Carlos nodded in agreement turning to me with a worried look before glancing at Mal. I nodded staying beside Mal like Carlos wanted " You two read minds now? " she asked as I giggled at her before shaking my head " No Mal he looked at me and then glanced at you, meaning he wants me to stay with you so I don't get hurt " I said as Mal nodded in understanding " Plus I think they got this. we gotta find that ember " Mal said as I nodded fiddling with my necklace and pulling my hair up in a messy ponytail " Good timing it's right about his nap time " Celia replied looking at her watch before looking at me with a worried look " Is she gonna be okay? " She asked Mal causing Mal to look at me waiting for my answer " I should be fine...for now " I said before following the two to Hades lair.
