"You can't just take me out of school."

Brooks nodded his head slightly ignoring my statement.

I continued to state my point.

"I have classes I'm missing. Maybe even a test. You have to take me back."

Brooks didn't glance at me and continue to drive us towards the middle of the city.

"Look, Beautiful. You can miss a day of school. I will even call the school to have you an excused absence," Brooks replies.

I cross my arms and slide down in the seat. "Running off with my soulmate boyfriend doesn't count as an excused absense," I pout.

Brooks chuckled. "It is when your famous."

💗💗💗

I sunk into a couch. The black, slick fabric leads me to believe it's leather. Brooks paces across the recording studio, and every few seconds runs his hand through his hair. His tense demeanor causes his muscles to be prominent thru his black jacket.

I took my surroundings. Brooks has taken me to a small recording room. A window of glass separated Brooks and I from the other half of the room where many instruments and microphones were held.

On the other side of the window, a large panel was home to an assortment of buttons, switches, and dials. Everything in the room looked too expensive for me to even breathe the same air as it. Even the couch looked as if it might break if I sat on it the wrong way.

I look back over at Brooks. He hasn't said a word to me since we got to this room. I decided to break the silence.

"Brooks." He stops pacing for a second to look at me. "Why are we here?"

"Like I said, there is someone who wants to meet you," he says harshly.

I take his tone with a grain of salt. I can tell he's stressed, so I know his anger is not pointed at me.

The room becomes silent again until a knock comes to the door. Brooks runs through his hair as he walks to the door. He opens the door allowing the man in and turns to me.

"Allie, meet Mr. Alan Han, my manager."

Mr. Han wears a huge smile. The kind of smile you would see on a car salesman when they try to make you pay overprice. He has a mostly bald head and is a fairly beefy man. He wears a red and blue checkered polo and black dress pants. A black brief case is held in his hands. I assume it holds important files of some sort.

Mr. Han holds out his hand to shake. "Ms. Allie, a pleasure to meet you."

I shake his hand in return. "Same to you, Mr. Han."

"Please call me, Alan."

I nod my head and look to Brooks for context.

Alan turns towards Brooks to address him.

"Well, Brooks, why did you call me here to meet this girl?"

Brooks puts on a smile I can only place as fake. It seems too exaggerated. Too forced. "This is the girl you wanted to meet, Alan. My soulmate."

I looked at Alan and back at Brooks. Something wasn't right here. Brooks seemed to be treading on cold water.

"Oh, of course!" Alan exclaimed. "I am so sorry for the misunderstanding. I assumed she was another fangirl off the street."

I furrowed my eyebrows.

What?

A fangirl off the street? I push away the thought, but remember to ask Brooks about it later.

Alan turns back to me. "Obviously, I just wanted to make sure you understand the circumstances of Brooks and yours relationship."

I shift my stance and place my hands into my pockets.

"As you must know, Brooks makes his living off of singing shallow pop songs. Pop songs that make girls think that someday they could have a chance with Brooks here. Some of those fangirls even get to come hang out with Brooks after shows and what-not."

Alan takes breath and shoots and glance at Brooks. Brooks, however, seems to be very interested in the ground right about now.

"So, you could understand the problem we would have if everyone knew he had a soulmate. I understand you probably can't wrap your mind around not telling everyone you're dating a popstar. You just can't. No one can know, and if it becomes a problem, I will remove you from the situation." His tone becomes dark and so does his face. His salesman grin turns into a sinister frown.

I can't help but wish this conversation would be over.

I try to put on a confident face, but it probably looks forced. "I promise you, Alan. I have no intentions of letting the secret out."

Alan takes one last glance at us. He nods his head and excuses himself from the room.

Brooks let's out a sigh. I hear him cuss a few times before sitting down on the couch.

I continued to look at the door wishing Alan would walk back in here saying what he just said was a joke.

"Is it just me or was I threatened?" I said trying to lighten the mood.

I walked over and sat by Brooks. He pressed his hands against his forehead letting out a few more words of foul language. "All that matters is you're safe and we keep it that way, okay?"

I slip my hand into his and give a forced nod. We continue to sit like this and stare at the door all of our problems will later come through.

I couldn't get what Alan said out of my head. "No one can know, and if it becomes a problem, I will remove you from the situation."
