After explaining the whole "I have a soulmate thing" to Faith, she brought out her secret stash of snacks to eat.

"So, where is your soulmate?"

I refused to tell Faith Brook's or Mr. Han's name, because I knew the more I told, the more danger she was in.

"I don't really know where he is. He drove off after leaving me at my house."

"Well I want to meet him as soon as possible," Faith stated.

Is she crazy?

"Are you crazy?" I asked," You can't meet him. No one is supposed to see us together!"

Faith crossed her arms forming a pout on her face. "I'm not no one," she argued.

I crossed my arms in return and pouted back at her teasingly. "No, you're not, but I don't want to bring you into this."

"Fine," she sighed in defeat.

She continued to snack on the mini chocolate bars from her basket of food while I munched on some chips.

I glanced over at the clock sitting on her bedside table. My eyes widened.

"4:30! My mom's gonna be home soon!" I exclaimed.

"Ok, then go!" Faith laughed. "Don't stand here like a crazy maniac, duh."

I quickly hugged Faith, and the action was reciprocated.

"I probably won't be at school for the rest of the week. I have a lot to process."

"I understand. I'll visit you tomorrow after school, cool?"

"Cool." I answered.

I climbed back down from her window. Jumping off a few feet from the ground my feet landed firmly on the grass.

I left Faith's backyard and jumped into my car. The settling sound of the engine calmed me. I backed out of the driveway and headed back to my house.

Upon getting to my driveway, I sighed in relief noticing my mom's car not present.  Jumping out of the car, I walked inside and settled myself on the couch.

I turned on the TV to the local news channel, but I didn't pay attention when I heard the door open.

"Allie?" my mother's voice called.

I coughed once remembering to keep my sick act up. "In here mom," I squeaked.

My mom swung her head around the corner. Her eyes softened when she saw me.

"Hey, sweetie, how are you doing?"

*cough cough* "Not so hot. I think I came down with strep throat."

Mom pouted. I need to stop lying to people. It's one thing when it doesn't affect them, but now I'm making my mother worried and upset.

"Aww, honey, do you want some chicken noodle soup for dinner?" she offered.

Stop lying to her.

"Yeah, that'd be great. Thanks."

"No problem, sweetie."

Trying to clear my conscience, I focused back to the TV. The local news was doing a section over the recent movie premiere.

That's when I saw a familiar tuft of black hair. Brooks.

He looked handsome as he stepped out of the limo. His usual black tee and jeans had been replaced by a black tux, and his once messy hair was now somewhat gelled. He looked handsome to say the least.

I waited for Brooks to walk down the carpet, yet he waited at the limo reaching his hand back inside.

A small hand took ahold of his as he helped a brunette haired girl step out. A familiar chocolate haired girl I hadn't along so well with.

Ashley.

Why was he with her?

Out of all people, he is at a movie premiere with her?

I felt my breath quicken.

Calm down, Allie. He is only with her for the cameras.

However, my heart did not like cooperating with my brain very often, and this, ladies and gentlemen, is one of the very times it was not listening.

Hooray! Let's throw a party! Allie's gonna have a mental breakdown.

Ashley turned her head towards the camera giving a huge grin. It wasn't the fake one I was used to. She wore a prussian blue gown with a silver shimmer to it at the top. She looked stunning.

Too stunning.

Her and Brooks looked like a perfect match. Model for model. I bit my lip to hold back tears.

Brooks hand snaked around her waist as they started to walk the carpet. She turned to face him giving a loving smile.

He returned the smile. Then, he proceeded to give her a quick peck on the lips.

Tears stung my eyes, and my lip quivered.

"Hey, mom? I'll be back for dinner when it's ready," I called.

"Okay, I call you when it's ready," she responded.

I headed up to my room and immediately curled up on my bed.

A tear fell onto my cheek. The cold sting was unwelcome. My entire body shook with silent sobs.

As I tried to hold my problems from the outside, I felt the inside breaking. Piece after piece I fell apart.

I felt betrayed, hurt, and confused.

After calming down enough to function, I walked to the bathroom. I grabbed a pink washcloth. I applied cold water to my face with the washcloth to removed some of the redness from my face. I also cleaned off my streaked mascara.

Pulling my hair into a quick messy bun, I took a look myself. I looked like I was from the set of The Walking Dead.

"Allie! Food's ready!" my mom called.

I headed downstairs, and mom handed me my hot bowl of soup. It smelled fresh which made my stomach grumble.

"Honey, are you sure you're okay? You look like you walked out of a grave."

I gave a short laugh. "Gee thanks, mom."

"You know what I mean. I'm just worried about you."

"I'm fine, mom," I reassured her," Its just strep throat. I'll be better after I rest this week."

"Okay, but if you don't get better, I'm calling the doctor to schedule you an appointment." She waved her finger at me.

We finished our soup in silence, and telling my mother goodnight, I walked up to my room to sleep.

However, I was met with an unpleasant face.

"What do you want?"

AN: Haha! I left you on a cliffhanger.

Who do you think the unwelcome visitor is? Is Brooks just with Ashley for the public, or is something else going on?

I think I'm around halfway done with this book, and I'm pretty proud of myself. I plan on having around 30-ish chapters, but I'll just wait and see.

Anyway, if you like the chapter please vote and comment.
