About a week has passed and everything is honestly back to normal.
The day after the house party was quite eventful. I went back to my dorm with Amina and Sierra just to realized that I did see someone in my dorm. Our campus had opened back up completely that week and my drunk ass was just seeing my roommate Josephine, who was casually watching television. How'd I get drunk? Ashley and Amina gave me the wrong drink.
After accidentally being drunk, I apparently almost let Tyrese take me back to my dorm... I don't know how, but I know it was Amina that saved me. A majority of that night was blurred out of my memory and I was grateful that it was.
After I got myself together I got a chance to properly meet my room mate. Turns out she was the person I bumped at the Freak Block. The one I thought was a fine...yeah...she looked like a boy. (Reread Chapter 1 closely if you're lost.) After talking to her she told me that she saw herself as a "masculine female", and that she was Bi. I did my share and told her about myself and what happened to my last room mate. So far I'm growing to like her personality and character.
Amina has been staying with the both of us for the past two days just so I could get comfortable with Josephine.
"How you feeling about Josey?" Amina asks sitting on the floor.
"Comfortable actually. She's giving me pretty good vibes..." I respond.
"Okay, just want to make sure you're feeling safe because I know how you feel about—"
"I'm used to it. As long as she doesn't make a move on me." I respond.
Amina nods, agreeing. "So can I leave tonight?" She asks.
"If you want to, Yeah."
We then begin a conversation about the ridiculous amount of work we have to do if we plan on graduating on time.
...
Amina had left and it was just Josephine and I. We'd been talking for an hour, getting to know each other."After everything you told me, would it be rude if I asked to switch rooms with you?" She questions.
"No, I would probably want to do the same."
"Okay cool. I thought you would kick me out or sum." She says, sending me a playful smirk.
"No, like I said, I'd do the same." I laugh.
"So why'd you and half of your school decide to transfer here?" I ask, walking past her to grab a popsicle out of the refrigerator.
"Well our school has been broke, but they did something last semester that really blew their funds, so they dropped half of their programs and fired hella professors."
"What!" I gasp
"Yeah, So the state paid for them to send junior and seniors who had a major in the programs they dropped, here to finish out the year and graduate." She explains, never breaking her eye contact with me.
It made me a bit uncomfortable but my ass is awkward.
"So what happed to all the students with majors in those programs that are underclassmen?" I question, trying to reciprocate her gaze.
"They refunded them a third of their tuition. Now they have to transfer to other schools."
"Wow that's crazy." I reply, getting up to throw away my wrapper.
"I stamp it is sus." She chuckles.
I yawn involuntarily.
"Tired?" She asks.
