Theory Five

Chapter 3-Posssive Ailen

Turns out that soft surface was a bed. Recovering from their shock Ash and the rest ran into the hallway near the cage where Five and I were.Ash got into the cage first and took a step forward before Five started to growl at him.

"Athena. Are you okay?? Let her go!!" Ash commanded. Five only pulled me closer to his chest squeezing me tighter. A whimper came from me and Five lightened his grip.

"I'm okay but I don't think he's gonna let me go anytime soon." I said looking at Ash who was trying to move closer to the bed.

Damn right. The words appeared in front of my face. I gasped the words capturing me off guard.

"What??What happened???" Ash asked his face filling with concern.I shook my head trying to get up from the bed but was pulled down. A non-human sound came from Five it was vibrating through his whole body.

"Don't step any closer human." Five said shocking us all. He just spoke...wait, he can speak???!!

"Let Athena go. We just want to talk we don't mean any harm." Jax said walking into the cage.

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want her to leave." Five said almost snuggling into my neck but catching himself and moving his head back.

"Why not?"

"None of your business now don't step any closer." Five snapped pulling me even closer to his chest.

"We're not gonna hurt her we just want to talk can we do that?" Jax said. Five looked at Jax his green eyes meeting Jax's brown ones. Five nodded.

"But they go[he pointed to the rest of the team out in the hallway] and she gets to stay." Five pointed to me when he said the last part. Jax looked at me as if asking me if I wanted to stay or not.

"I'll stay."  I said.

"Alright.Ash take the team out of the hallway and cover the front part of the cage. I'll stay here and talk with Athena and him." Jax pointed to Five. Five lowered his head toward my neck and I could feel his hot breath.

"Thank you for staying." He whispered though he knew I had no choice. Considering the fact that every time I try to leave he tightens his grip on my waist.

"Your so not welcome." I mumbled back angrily. I was starting to get angry for no reason and I couldn't figure out why.

He whimpered and snuggled into my neck. Jax looked at us and shook his head pulled out a chair from a table at the back of the room.

"So, first off what are you?" He said.

"I'm not a human." Five mumbles into my neck. Jax looked at me confused and I said,"He said that he's not a human."

Jax nodded.

"Why are you clingy to Athena?? Was it because she was the first one that came into the cage??"

Five didn't say anything just kept snuggling into my neck.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"Trying to keep you from getting up and leaving me here." He replied.

"That's obvious but like what are you doing snuggling into my neck?"

No answer. He's breathing became deep and a slight snoring came from him.

"Is he asleep?" I asked Jax hoping that he isn't asleep. Jax nodded putting  the chair back, sighing and walking out. I began trying to pry Fives arms from around my waist. After several failed attempts I finally got out of his grip.

I stood up and looked  at him. His arms were moving up and down on the  bed trying to find me. He looked kinda cute sleeping. No! I can't think that. I shook my head trying to rid me of those thoughts.

He's brown hair falling over his eyes and I had the temptation to pull the hair away but resisted it. I left the cage and walked towards the Team.

"Athena!! Are you okay?? You aren't hurt are you?" Ares asked putting his hands on my shoulders.

"I'm fine Are. No I'm not hurt I'm just hungry." I said thinking about how tacos sounded really good at that moment. Ares chuckled and dragged me into the elevator.

"Hey! We need to know what happened!!" Dr.Rosa said taking a step towards the elevator. Before I could answer the elevator doors closed and we were going up to the cafeteria. Most of the researchers/scientists went to the cafeteria during work hours if they were hungry.

After we ate tacos I told Ares I was tired and he took me home. I didn't lie I really was tired but I couldn't sleep. Something was keeping me up and I didn't know what. So, I took some sleeping pills and headed to bed.

I woke up and the sun was setting. I looked at the clock on my nightstand which read eight-o'clock. The floor was ice cold as I got out of bed.  I groaned as a pain started coming up my back.

"This again." I thought as I laid back on the bed and waiting for it to pass. That was the first pain I had gotten all day which was unusual seeing I normally get at least five pains per day.

"Sweetie? Ares said you were tired." My mom said opening my bedroom door. Her eyes meeting mine.

"Yea I was. Is something wrong?" I asked getting up for the second time. My mother looked away.

"Uhh no? Maybe??"

"Mom??" She looked up.

"Yes something's wrong. The beast or thing that we have captured keeps asking where you are and won't eat until he sees you. His words not mine."

"Ugh. Alright I'll go see him."

My mom took out her phone and made a call as I got dressed and headed to the lab. The elevator doors dinged open as I walked into the room.

"Athena! I'm glad your here. We need him to eat so that he stays healthy." Ash says handing me a tray full of food. I headed towards the cage door and opened it.

Before even stepping five feet into the room the tray was taken away from me and I was pulled into a hug.

"Oof."

"Athe! When I didn't see you when I woke up I freaked out and thought that they had taken you away from me. But turns out you just left on your own. Why?" Five asked sighing.

"You were asleep I didn't think you would notice. I was angry at you as well so I left. I hugged Five back he whimpered.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you mad. I just wanted to have you in my arms." Five said with sadness in his voice.He let me go and put the tray down which he was perfectly balancing on his hand. He started to eat which gave me a good chance to go and talk to Dr.Rosa.

The door was halfway opened when I heard a whimper coming from behind me. When I turned around Five was looking straight at me with puppy eyes.

"Look I was told you weren't eating but now you are so my job here is done." I said rubbing my eyes with the back of my hand. He stood up an came over to me and pulled me into his chest. He smelt of burning wood and charcoal.

He placed his head in the crook between my head and my shoulder.

"But you just arrived. You can't leave yet." He said.

"I'll be just right outside the cage. I'll tell them to lift the cover so that you can see me. Okay?" I pulled back and looked into his eyes. A deep sadness was in them. I couldn't leave him not now. 

"I'll stay."  The sadness in his eyes vanished replaced with joy.
