The place was in chaos. Servants running to get stuff for their masters. Warriors testing out their new weapons. Healers casting spells over the warriors. The archers testing out their bows. Shields lay thrown across the ground smudged with dirt. The clash of sword on sword could be heard from miles away.
The armor on my body felt light like I never put it on.
"Athena are you ready? We're ready to leave now." Ransom said from outside my door.
"Yea." I shouted back. Ransom was leaning against the wall in black armor. His black helmet covering his eyes so no one could tell it was him. I pulled my hood over my head and nodded to Ransom.
"Alright don't talk until you're up close to the Underground Sun's leader. Don't pull your hood down, and don't show your wings. Stay in the back and listen to orders got that?" Ransom said in a serious tone. I nodded he smiled proudly.
"Good. Let's go."
The walk towards the front doors was a silent but short walk. All the soldiers of battle were in line and ready for the battle. All their faces were covered so no one could tell who they were. But the way I could tell Thomas was Thomas was because he waved to me as I passed by. Ransom led us to the front of all the soldiers.
"Alright men and women today is battle day. Not all of us will live we all know that and not all of us will die. But we will fight to our last dying breath. We will protect our home, our people, our family's, our Athena!"
A chorus of yells and hollers rang through the room. Underneath my hood I smiled at all this. I couldn't believe that all these people were willing to fight for me and with me. It was amazing though the fact that some would die that hit me hard I still didn't show that I was effected by it.
Ransom put up his hand and the noise stopped.
"Ready? Set. March!" He yelled and turned. I turned with him and marched out of the front doors with the rest of the soldiers behind me.
"Go in the back!" Ransom yelled at me. I nodded and moved out of the front formation. I made my way towards the back and fell in formation there. They were already waiting for me.
We marched towards the Old City before coming to a halt. I moved to the front ignoring the hands of people trying to keep me in the back. What I saw in the front,I didn't expect.
The Underground Sun was there with weapons and makeshift armor. Their leader was in the front with hatred burning in his eyes.
"Five." Ransom said
"Ransom." The leader said.
"What are you doing here?"
"Taking back what's mine."
"I'm afraid that's not possible."
All eyes turned to me as I walked closer to Ransom in the front. The leader of the Underground Sun's eyes grew as wide as saucers. I faced him and put as much hate, spite, in a look as I could.
"Athe." He breathed. A vision of a cage and the words Athe appeared in my mind but only for a second.
"What did you do to her?" He screamed at Ransom. Ransom smiled a evil smile.
"You'll see. Go ahead Athena. Show him." He said reaching and pulling my hood down. Gasps came from everyone in front of me. Whispers sparked, the smell of fear was clear as day. They were afraid.
"Oh god Athe. We'll get you back to normal. I swear it." He whispered to me reaching a hand towards me. I stepped out of his reach his face fell and he smiled sadly.
