Five's View:
I woke up to the sound of Athena snoring silently beside me. I don't even remember falling asleep next to Athena on the bed. But judging by how we were positioned then I guess we did fall asleep. I felt the tug of the waves against the boat as we neared closer to my island.Home. I haven't been there in what has seemed like years. But it was probably just a couple of months. I looked down at Athena's sleeping form. Her shoulders moved up and down with her breathing. Little does she know on what to expect on the island. My thoughts wandered to my sister and what she was doing without me there to help with the military choices. My sister.
I haven't seen her since I was captured and we didn't exactly leave off on a good note, so the humans put it. A sniffle from Athena made me come back to reality. When I looked down at her face she was crying. I cupped her cheeks and removed the tears with my thumb.
"Hey why are you crying pulcher angelus?" I whispered. [Pulcher angelus translates to beautiful angel in Latin]
She leaned into my touch and stopped crying. A smile rose on my face as I thought on how she was mine. Mine. Not anyone else's just mine. Which I know took a lot of courage to start dating someone that your parents kidnapped and put into a cage and did god knows what on. Not to mention how quick I moved with her but I just can't help it. All I want to do is hold her in my arms and stay like that with her.
I messed with the ends of her hair until the boat stopped moving. We have reached our destination. I kissed Athena on the lips trying to wake her up she didn't wake. I kissed her jaw this time still she didn't wake. I placed a kiss on her neck which definitely woke her up.
"Good morning my angel." I whispered tucking a piece of stray hair behind her ear she smiled and got up.
"Are we there yet?" She asked turning towards the small window on the far wall.
"Yea." I pulled some shorts on and a shirt and grabbed the two backpacks which I had brought from Athena's closet. I wrapped my arm around Athena and walked out of the boat. As soon as we were a couple of feet on the island I turned around and snapped my fingers for the boat to go away.
I lead us into the forrest knowing the way to The Underground Sun by heart. Every once in a while Athena would trip over a branch or two before continuing on. I don't know why she had to follow Ares out here and I don't like it that she had too but I can't stop her either. We stopped as we came out of the forrest and into the ruins of the very old city. This isn't the old one that was being bombed everyday but it was one of the older cities that my people used before we were untied.
I pulled the door open to a bomb shelter and told Athena to walk in. This was the main entrance to The Underground Sun and the Crows still haven't found it. I walked in behind her and the smell was just how I remembered it. Musty and clamped so to it felt hard to breathe , it didn't bother me but I could tell that it bothered Athe.
"Here take this." I handed her a gas mask that was hanging on a counter nearest us.
"Thanks." She replied pulling the gas mask around her face. I took the chance and looked around like it was my first time seeing this room. Everything was how I remembered it. The beds pinned to one wall and the boxes of ammunition and food and such stood on the other. A latch was hooked to the first bed so that you could pull out all the beds and still have room to walk around. If I remembered correctly the key should be under the third bed.
