"Is she still asleep?"
"Yes. But her wings have grown to full capacity and she is half-turned."
"Good.Good."
I came in and out of conciseness.
"It's been days why is she still unconscious?"
"Things take time sir. We are hurrying the process but it's not going as fast as we planned."
"Wake her."
"But sir-."
"Wake her!"
"Yes sir."
I came through and I saw a that I was in a cell. Iron bars separated me from the outside. I tried to walk forward but chains held my hands to the wall and as I moved to look I screamed. Large black wings were sprouting from my back. They were carved and pointy at the end.
I struggled against the chains trying to pull them out of the wall. They came out a little but as I slumped against the wall the went back in. I screamed again. I wanted to scream til I was hoarse. I didn't know where I was or how I got here but I wanted to leave.
The memory of Five lying on the ground with a knife protruding from his chest and his eyes ,once full of life, were gone. I remembered his words, "My Athe. I'm glad your okay." I completely lost it everything I had hoped, fought, for was lost. Everything.
The tears fell harder and faster than they have ever had. I felt alone for the first time in my life. I felt completely alone.
"Ah your awake Ransom will be glad." A voice said lifting up my chin. It was a man with black hair, black eyes, and dark black skin. Not the sort of black that looked chocolate but the sort of black that was the darkest shade of black possible. He moved my chin from side to side.
A puzzled looked crossed his face as he looked at my right eye.
"Hmm. He will not be happy about this. Well, it seems your still trying to fight it. Don't fight it let it was over you like warm water." The man said dropping my chin and leaving the room.
Fight what? Let what was over me? What is he talking about? These thoughts rushed through my head as I tried to process what just happened. Two Crows came in in black armor. I could tell they were Crows by their amor that they wore.
They reached me and pulled the chains off of my hands and put me on a stretcher. I didn't want to go. They sedated me and I fell into a blackened slumber.
"She's still fighting it Doc. It's like her soul isn't ready to give up. Doc have you seen her?"
"I have. She seems like she would be a good experiment but that's not what I'm here for. Ransom choose well, she will learn how to control her powers and she will give in. It's just a matter of time."
"We not have time Doc. We have to train her and get her on the battlefield so she can destroy that Rebel."
"Hmmm. Well, there is one solution but it will be painful for her and it will make her not fight it."
"What is it, Doc?"
I woke in a hospital room but instead of the white covers and walls. I was met with blackness everywhere I looked was black but every so often something would shimmer and I could see color again but only in one eye. I closed my eyes but was met with more blackness I couldn't escape it.
I reached my arm to my eyes and was met with a bandage covering my eyes. I ripped it off. I could see color in half of my right eye the other half was black. There was a mirror in the corner of the room that wasn't there before. I inched my way over to it and stared at myself in the mirror.
