Chapter 8: Jealousy

Jaebum was dragged along by Jennie to go shopping. And by shopping, she meant holding her shopping bags and giving opinions on her clothes. Jennie tries on the 7th outfit and asks, "How about this one?" Jaebum takes a picture with his camera and looks at it. He says coldly, "Not that one, the colors don't match well."

Jennie is relieved that Jaebum doesn't give the same answer every time. He doesn't have the best sense of fashion but he does have an artistic style. After a few hours, Jennie decides on what to buy and asks Jaebum, "Did you want anything?" Jaebum turns his head around until he sees a particular bucket hat which fancies him.

He makes his way to grab it but as he was getting a hold of it another person's hand appeared. Jaebum let's go of the hat and says, "Oh, you can have it." The girl says, "Not it's the last one, and it looks like you saw it first."

Jaebum says shocked, "Seulgi?" Seulgi replies, "Of course, you would be the one buying Gucci bucket hats." Jaebum laughs awkwardly and she says, "You can have it, I have a lot already." Jaebum stutters, "N-no, you can have it. I have a lot of bucket hats already." She smiles and says, "You look better in bucket hats, you can have it."

Jaebum disagrees unconsciously and says, "You look way better in bucket hats. You always wear it better than me." Jennie disgusted at this exchange intervenes the conversation, "Oh hey Seulgi!" Seulgi's facial expression changes and says, "Oh look at the time, bye Beomie!"

Jennie scoffs, "Beomie? Seulgi, want to have lunch with us?" Jaebum looks at her worried but her face is still the serious and intimidating face he fears but finds hot. Seulgi says, "Yeah, I would like that. If it's ok with you?" Jennie and Seulgi look at Jaebum and he's loving every single moment of this.

He says, "Umm..." A guy enters the room and all three of their eyes turn to him. The two girls' jaw drops as he greets the cashier. Jennie mutters under her breath, "He's so handsome..." Seulgi mutters too, "I never knew a man that perfect could exist." Jaebum is breathless at their reactions.

Suddenly, he turns to them and walks towards them. Jennie fixes her hair while saying, "He's coming this way. WTF, he's coming this way." Seulgi says, "Let's invite him to lunch." Jennie agrees with her, "That's a great idea. Good job, Seul." Seulgi says, "Good luck to both of us, Jen."

Jaebum is still silent. The guy says, "Oh did you want that bucket hat?" Seulgi says, "No, it would look better on you." Jennie says, "Definitely, you can have it. Jaebum suddenly says, "Sorry but I had my eyes on it first."

The guy sighs and says, "Well, makes sense. It's such a good bucket hat." Seulgi introduces herself, "I'm Seulgi. Nice to meet you." Jenne starts right after, "I'm Jennie. Pleasure to meet you." The guy bows and says, "Hi, I'm Kai."

Jaebum asks, "Do you want to have lunch with us?" Kai is flustered at the sudden invitation as they just met a few seconds ago. He says, "Sorry, I have a lunch date with my girlfriend." Jaebum says coldly, "I thought so."

The guy leaves and Seulgi and Jennie continue staring at him until he's out of sight. Jaebum buys the bucket hat and walks with the two girls to the restaurant. They keep talking about the guy they just saw while Jaebum stays quiet. He thinks to himself, "At least they aren't fighting."

As they enter the restaurant, they see Jimin and Mina eating at a table. Jennie asks, "What's with those two?" Seulgi says, "Jimin had a fight with Mina lately, I think he's trying to get her to forgive him."

They eat their meal with a few small talks but the topic of their small conversations were the same, Kai. Seulgi says, "His style is so good. Did you see his clothes? I bet he's a model." Jennie adds on, "He has this aura, I don't know how to explain it. He's probably a dancer." Jaebum then says, "We know for sure, he isn't single."

Seulgi says, "You're just jealous." Jennie nods her head, "It's ok to be jealous. Anyone would be seeing that he's taken." The waitress hands them their bill and Jaebum takes it, being the gentlemen he is. He gives her a tip with a smile. Jaebum says, "Thank you... Naeun." He reads her name right off her name tag but little did he know, her heart fluttered after hearing it.

While waiting for a receipt, they see Jimin storm out of the restaurant pissed. Mina says sorry to everyone and pays for their food. She then starts chasing after Jimin. Jaebum says, "Wait, who's angry at who?"

Naeun gives back a receipt and Jaebum notices there's a phone number on it. He smiles but Jennie and Seulgi see the number too. Seulgi grabs the receipt and says, "You tipped her 20 dollars? Isn't that too much, she was a shitty waitress." Jennie then grabs both of them and says, "We're never eating here again."

As they're walking out in a hurry, Jennie accidentally bumps into this small girl. Jaebum helps her up while Jennie apologizes. The girl looks dazed then looks at Jaebum. She says, "You're Jaebum right?" Jaebum nods awkwardly and she shakes his hand. She says, "I read you're articles and I am a big fan of your photography. Wait, I need to take a picture with you."

Jaebum chuckles and says, "Oh ok. Your name is?" She says cutely, "Choi Yena. Nice to meet you." Jaebum chuckles at her cuteness and says, "So cute~" They take a picture and the three depart with the Jaebum fan.

Jennie takes his camera and says, "Don't worry, I'll give it back." Jaebum sighs knowing he just lost another one of his cameras. Seulgi then bid goodbyes and Jaebum and Jennie make their way back to the apartment.

{I've been reading too much Jaegi/Jenbum fan fictions. Sorry for the lack of Jimina}
