Chapter one: The day everything changed

Hello the name is Blaze and I am a normal every day student. Then one day that all changes and thats were my story begins. It all started as a normal every day school morning. Then on the way back I had met up with a person named Matt and he is fourteen and is five foot eight . He was new around the town. So he asked me for directions to the same school that I normally go to.

Then late that night I was walking around back home after having a good run around the own I heard strangenoises around my house. Then I had noticed that there was something huge standing in the shadows. I started to walk away from the object that was in the shadowsThen after doing that the big object started to move forwards and then I could see that its head was covered by some type of mask.

Then after a few moments I decided to charge at it with a bat that I had left out. Then I charged at it at full speed and swung with all of my strength and the bat broke right at the moment of impact. I jumped back and noticed that it was still moving forward. I wondered why it didn't work then in the light of the moon I could see it clearly. It was about seven feet tall and it had the face of a lion but it could stand and they were pure dark black.

I started to run away but as soon as I had turned around there was another one that came out of nowhere. Then out of nowhere I heard a gun shot and I turned around and saw that the monster had been shot right on the head. Then I heard a sword noise this time from behind. Who's there I yelled out loud. Then I noticed that it was Matt and he was carrying around a sword and also had his gun put up.

What was that thing just now and why are you carrying those weapons for? Let me explain the story first and then you will know. First things first I am a hunter of those things that you just saw and they are called Shadow Lions. They only come out at night and I hunt them down so that they don't end up killing the innocent. I have been hunting them ever since I was seven since one night my father was out hunting them and I had gone with him to watch him.

On that same night he was killed and I saw it first hand. At that moment I didn't hesitate to pick up his sword and I swung at the best I could at the one who had killed my dad. Then from that day on I swore to protect all of the innocent people just so that no one would suffer what I had gone through.

That must have hurt seeing you dad get killed by one of those things. How do you know where to find them? Once a person has swore to kill them they gain special powers to be able to find them and also powers to be able to hurt them. They can't be hurt if you aren't willing to kill them for a purpose. For example you trying to hit it with the bat didn't even leave a scratch on it.

So in other words if I would want to kill them I need to have a good reason why to but it can't be just to kill them just by wanting to. Thats correct Blaze and I am willing to risk my life to save everyone is why I am able to harm them. In other words if you need any help just find me. I will and why did you ask me the directions to the school I go to? Oh! I am enrolled at the school and I didn't know that we were going to be going to the same school so I asked you. I just want you to promise me one thing? I will do anything since you just saved me. Well I want you to keep quiet about what had just happened and try to forget it. I will but I can'tguarantee that I will be able to forget what happened.

Then after we agreed he left. Then afterwards I went inside and headed straight towards my room. I had gone to bed after an hour had gone by and I just thought of today. I thought of maybe helping out Matt on his night hunts. I thought that I would ask him more the next day just to know more of what he was going against. Then after doing all of that thinking I doze off and had gone to sleep.
