The Shower Part II

READER'S POV

"I kinda wish I'd gone for a pink colour now though, I mean-

"SURPRISE!!!" everyone yelled as Penny waddled in through the doorway. She paused for a second, alarmed to see all her friends, and her house decorated in blue and white. Her green eyes scanned the scene in front of her, then almost instantly, her hand flew to her mouth, covering her lips as she burst into tears. The smiles on each and everyone's faces started to falter but she waved her hand at herself, shaking her head. "these god damn hormones!" she cried, making everyone smile again. 

Julian rushed over within seconds, holding her and chuckling. "see what I've had to put up with?" he smirked, receiving a whack to his chest. "argh! yeah I know I deserved that" I laughed, squeezing her tight. "come see everyone" he said excitedly, slowly peeling his arms from her, to take her hand and lead her through the room and to see what everyone had been doing for her. 

"Vivi!" Penny exclaimed when she saw the Brady's youngest sitting on the couch cuddling Winnie. "Hi Aunt Penny" she smiled, "how pretty does the house look?!" She beamed excitedly as she jumped off the couch to cuddle her. "It really does! But you look pretty too! look at your beautiful dress!" Pen cooed over the little one. "thank you, mommy says I can't get cake over it though" she sighed, making Penny bite the inside of her cheek to stop from laughing. "oh well, a pretty dress like that has to be kept special" Pen whispered, "but" she added, "there's cake!?" She asked Vivian in an excited whisper. Vivi's little face lit up and nodded frantically. "come see!!" and Vivian grabbed her hand and pulled her over to the dining table, that was now covered in blue and white confetti, surrounded by balloons and currently holding the most beautiful set of black, gold and white tiered cakes. "there's two?!" Penny exclaimed, making Vivi giggle and nod back at her, "well I think Baby Edelman will enjoy those yummy cakes" Penny said, salivating as she rubbed her hand over her belly. Vivian smiled up at the woman with a gentle smile and wide eyes, "Penny?" she asked timidly, "hmm?" she replied, only slightly taking her gaze away from all the sweet treats Danny had created there on that table. "m-may I feel the baby?" she asked, causing Penny to focus solely on Vivian. "of course" Penny giggled, "he's usually quite wriggly at this time of the day, because it's usually time for food" she added, slowly lowering onto the floor. Vivian did the same and carefully placed her hand onto Penny's bump. "he sounds like he's already like Uncle Jules" she said, making Penny laugh loudly. "yup. Most definitely like his daddy" she agreed. "but as long as that's the only part he's like....I couldn't handle two of Uncle Jules" she whispered, making Vivian laugh again. "no one could" the deep voice of Tom interrupted them. The pair of them looked up and giggled at him "Hey Tom" she smiled, "Penny" he grinned at her, "are you going to let Aunt Penny go and see her other guests?!" he asked his daughter, who sigh and looked to her lap. "I was only saying hello to the baby daddy" she defended. "it's okay, we can have a little catch up later on can't we, when I get to cut that cake" Penny winked at her. Vivian smiled and nodded, "happy baby shower Penny" she said, wrapping her little arms around Penny's neck and kissing her cheek. "thank you sweetie" she smiled back, tears threatening her eyes again. 

"you want a little help?" Tom asked, after watching their exchange and Vivian skipping off to find her mom. "a little, please" She laughed, knowing at this stage she was feeling like a Weeble. The quarter back lifted her with ease, making sure she was steady before letting her go. "thanks" she giggled, "I forget how difficult it is being on the floor now, til I get down there and I can't get back up" she said, and they both laughed, "yeah, I remember that well. I'd find G on the carpet many a time yelling for me to give her a hand" he chuckled. "I miss those days" he said, "getting broody are we?" Penny grinned cheekily. Tom laughed and shook his head, "I think we have more than our hands full with our brood." he said "but we're always happy to do a spot of baby sitting for you guys" he told her. "Don't tell J that, he'll be calling you up none stop" Pen sniggered, "I'll block his number" he shot back, making Penny laugh harder, "but seriously, I know you don't have your mom here, but you have Nick, Jamie and Dola and you sure have me and Gisele. Family doesn't end with blood Pen. We're all here for you, if you need anything. You know that right?" He asked her, looking right into her eyes. She nodded, "t-thank you" she squeaked out before the tears began plopping onto her cheeks again. "oh Pen" he chuckled, pulling her into a hug. "I know, I know, I'm getting on my own nerves with this crying business" she said, shaking her head and wiping her eyes. "get used to it honey, having kids keeps you in an emotional state for the rest of your life. Whether it be anger, frustration, or in absolute unconditional love that they have you in tears." he said with a slight smile. "welcome to parenthood Pen, you're gonna love it"

Penny had almost made her way around everyone, when she sees Rob walking over to her with a sheepish smile on his face. "hey Rob" she smiled, "looking sharp" she smirked at him and he let out a laugh, "yeah, thanks Pen" He chuckled whilst leaning in to hug her. "how you feeling?" he asked as they parted. "yeah," she sighed, making him snigger, "I know you guys must be sick of hearing about my mood swings huh" she rolled her eyes, knowing just how much Julian was probably venting to them about her emotional state. "haha, it's not been so bad..." he teased her and she snorted out a laugh. "we can't wait to meet the little guy" he grinned, "but I think there's someone more desperate than us..." he added, which caused Penny to frown, before her eyes went wide and breath was ripped from her lungs. "ohmygod!!!" she cried out as Amelia poked her head out from behind Rob. Amelia let out a similar sort of shriek and pulled her best friend into her arms. "I've been dying to feel that bump!" she giggled, rubbing her fingers over Penny's belly. She laughed with her and looked down at her ever-growing baby bump. "he's gonna be a little chunk like his dad..." Amelia teased, making Penny cackle. "but hey!" she cut her laughter short. "I've been here for like 30 minutes already, why the hell am I only just seeing you now?!" She questioned. "Rob was showing me the baby's room..." she said innocently. "uh huh, that better be all he's been showing you" Pen quirked a brow at her friend and darted her eyes over at Rob- who gave her an embarrassed smile. "oh Pen!" Amelia hissed at her and shoved her in the arm. "hey, don't push a pregnant lady" She cried playfully.

"you're no lady" a voice interrupted the pair as Nick passed by them, sneaking with him a plate full of food. Penny glared at her brother as Amelia giggled, "I'll tell Danny you've raided the buffet before it's opened" She threatened. Nick's eyes went wide with fear and his mouth dropped open. "Macaron?" He pushed the plate toward her and she smirked at him, swiping a baby blue coloured treat off the plate.

"Okay everyone!!! Time to start the show!!" Danny bellowed over everyone. "God damn it Dola! Get off the frickin' coffee table!!"

The shower was actually going pretty well. To Danny anyway. The buffet was open and the food was going down a treat with everyone. "are you okay Pen?" he asked her, as she sat on her 'throne' in the centre of everyone. "yes, thank you Danny." she smiled politely at the 10th time of him asking her in about 5 minutes. She sent Jamie a look, who was sitting beside her and she shook her head. He nodded, turning away to check something else off his 'to-do list'. He was fluttering around the house, checking over everything, making sure the guests were happy and things were going according to plan. Whilst he was busy mothering Penny; Gronk thought it would be the perfect time to take a break.... 

"ugh, my god..." Rob yawned over enthusiastically. He slumped down into his favourite arm chair and rested his head back. "Don't let him see you sitting down..." Gisele giggled in a whisper. Rob smirked and shook his head. "just look at him." Nick smirked too, "you can feel the anxiety flooding the room over there" he laughed, causing Allie to whack him. He frowned and rubbed his chest, "you spend too long with my sister" he pouted. "he just wants to make sure everything is going smoothly for her" Allie reasoned with a soft smile. "it's kinda cute" Amelia added as she watched the whirlwind Italian with them. "Hmm..." Rob sounded sceptical as he saw Jules, Angie and Nicki coming down from their tour of the baby's room. 

"guys! It's time to do gifts!" Danny yelled excited. Before Rob continued his thoughts to the rest of the group...

"If that kid comes out with Black hair and a tan, there's going to be some serious questions asked...."
