The Shower Part III

Finally an update. Thank you for all the well wishes. It's going to be one long road for my daughter and I, and she's stuck with this shitty condition for the rest of her life. But she's a tough little thing. Onwards and Upwards I guess. So. Here's an update for you all. I actually enjoyed losing myself in it and getting away from reality. Hope you enjoy it too. xx

READER'S POV

The amount of gifts that surrounded the expectant parents was nothing short of a mountain. Rattles, clothes, bathing accessories, toys- even a stroller off Julian's mom and dad...the list was endless. "are you sure the walker is okay guys?" Danny asked the pair for the tenth time already. "yeah man, it's awesome. He's gonna love it" Julian smiled at his best friend. "the little man is really spoiled already" Penny added, rubbing her hand over her tummy. "you gonna have to come up with a new nickname for Jules now" Rob chimed in, highly amused as he poked fun at his teammates height. Again. Julian rolled his eyes and shook his head at him. "I got one more little thing for him too" Danny added before disappearing down to reach between his and Jamie's seats.

Pen leaned forward, intrigued by the pale blue bag that Danny brought into her line of sight. "I saw it and really couldn't resist" he chuckled as he passed it to Jules- who let out a huge belly laugh as he pulled out the tiny baby grow, adorned with the image of Taz- the Tasmanian Devil. "Always said; if Jules had a kid, it is gonna be one hell of a lot to handle!" he laughed, causing everyone surrounding them to do the same. Apart from Penny of course. "Gee thanks Dola....I mean, I was worried about that- but now you guys think so too, God I'm screwed" she face palmed. Danny leaned close and gently patted her back in sympathy. "Good luck" he added with a giggle.

"so I think that's all the gifts put in the nursery" Rob said, clapping his hands together, "oh is he still making you work?" Penny sighed, looking up at him. "honey, if it was work- I'd be gettin' paid..." Rob mumbled, causing Penny to snigger. She noticed that when Amelia meandered by, swiping a cupcake off the food table, Rob looked at her like she was as edible as the damn food. "just go and see her" Penny sighed with an amused smile. Rob's eyes darted to Penny. "you've not seen her for how long? You've barely spoken to her today. I can see it's killing you" she giggled. "go see her. And if Danny catches you- then you just yell me over and I'll sort him out" she grinned and Rob's cheeks flushed. "thank you" he smiled, and leaned down- surprising Penny and giving her a peck on her cheek. "you look glowing today Pen" he added softly. "uh huh" she sighed sceptically. "I don't bloody feel it" she complained whilst shuffling her bottom on her seat, making him smirk. "no go! before she takes all of those cakes! I wanted to stash them away for when you'd all gone!" she explained, shooing him away from her.

"ugh...." she sighed once again slumping back into her seat. "hey, where's he goin?" Julian asked, looking to see where Rob was disappearing to. "I just remembered I stashed away a load of cards from a few weeks back. Figured they'd be for now, so I thought we'd open them now-"

"Hey Jules! Pen! You gotta phone call!!" Nicki yelled from the dining area of the kitchen. "God my cankles are killing me! I wanna sit DOWN!!!" Penny yelled in frustration at the thought of getting up again. "you got sexy cankles darlin'" Julian winked at her as she waddled in front of him. She tried to give him a death glare but she ended up smirking at him and feeling flustered. Damn her hormones!

"It better be good Nicole!" Penny warned her as she finally reached her sister in law. Nicki gave her a wide grin and nodded her head wildly. "oh it is!" she squeaked, turning the Mac around so they could see the bright smile and warm dark eyes of "OH MY GOD! LIV!!" Penny screeched as she saw her friend waving back at them. "happy baby shower!!!"

"Good grief I need some cake right about now" Penny told Gisele as she sat by her with a plate of baby shower cake. "I know that feeling. I don't think I've gotten over my cake fix since having Vivi" she added. "woman, you could eat a whole wedding cake a not put on a pound" Pen scoffed at the Brazilian. "ha! maybe before I had babies. Now it's a lot harder to keep in shape"
