"Madam." My secretary called.
I stood up.
"We have someone to see you." She said.
My father appeared in the doorway and gave me a big smile.
"Dad!" I said, happily.
"Come give your old man a hug!" He opened his arms.
I quickly walked over to him and gave him a hug.
"Let me look at you," He said, as he pulled away. "My, how you have grown. You are turning into a wonderful young lady. You're like a clone of your mother."
I smiled. "Thanks for the unwanted cheesy message, Dad."
He laughed.
"So, why'd you come? Is it about the blind date? I didn't go, in case you didn't know."
"I know. I know. I came to talk to you about a new project that the company has thought of doing. We were going to pair up with Na Inc."
My eyes widened. "No." I said flatly.
"W-what?" My father looked at, surprised by my stern rejection.
Normally I followed every company project and I agreed with the partnerships as well. But working with Na INC....that is a stern no for me. No questions asked.
"I will not go and work with Na Inc. I am not going to cooperate father." I repeated.
"But, honey--"
"Dad, no. We have enough publicity as it is. We are the largest company out there. Both of the Lee Foundations and Na Inc are the top three companies as of right now." I pointed out.
"My dear, I'm not looking to gain more publicity. I looking for a solution to save our world. We are currently in a rough spot because we are being accused of gambling our money. We need to show the world that we are not illegal gamblers and that we do more for the world than just create plans for the future. We must take action."
I stayed silent, unsure of how I was supposed to respond. I sighed. "Dad, I can't partner up with Na Inc. We must reject the partnership. I will work with our brothers of the other Lee Corporation. However, I will not work with Na Jaemin."
"Why?"
"I have history with him and I do not want to see his face again." I said, half telling the truth, half lying.
"No. I don't care if you don't want to see his face again, we must complete this partnership for the reputation of our company." My father denied.
"OH COME ON DAD!" I shouted. "Why is always about the reputation of the company with you? Do you not understand that Mom died because of you? She could have been out partying all those nights but because she loved you too much, she was just sitting there quietly watching everyone else party because she wanted to protect the company's reputation. Never once did you thank her for that.
"What were you doing all that time though? You were fucking drinking and you got drunk. Then mom had to make up thousands of excuses for your actions. Maybe Mom's cancer was genetic or something, but she definitely could still be with us if you had let her relax and destress." I scolded.
The doors to my office opened and there stood Na Jaemin. In my doorway. In my office. In my company.
"Jaemin." I breathed out. I felt my entire world come to a stop. Everything fell around me and it was just me and him. No one else. Nothing else. The whole world was timeless until he spoke.
