Mina PoV

"Excuse me, ma'am? What are you doing out here?" A small voice asked.

I turned around wiped away the "tears" from my face. "Nothing really. I guess you could say I'm relaxing."

A young teenager walked over to me with an umbrella in hand. "Do you mind if I sit here?"

"Of course not. But, won't it wet your pants?" I asked.

"It's alright. I was going to get wet anyways." The girl said.

I laughed.

She looked at me curiously. "Were you crying? Why were you sad? And aren't you concerned that you could get sick?"

I chuckled. "Yes, I can't answer that, and not really."

Her lips came together in a stiff line, judging me like a mother.

"What's your name?" I asked.

"Lee Hyun-tae." She replied carefully.

"Hyuntae?" I said.

She nodded carefully.

"Sounds like Byuntae." I replied. (Pervert)

She furrowed her small brows in anger. "Don't call me that name! I hate it!"

"Hey! I wasn't calling you anything! I was just pointing it out. I'm sorry." I said, quick to apologize.

She looked at me skeptically. "Well, madam, what's you name?"

"Mina. But that's all I can say, otherwise I'll reveal my identity."

"Are you an undercover agent?"

"You could say that."

"Why did you cry?"

I stayed silent for a moment. I thought about all the things I could have said. Could I talk to a teenager about my worldly affairs? Could I talk about the problems I had with Jaemin? Could I talk about the stress I was feeling for taking care of Yeseul's safety? Could I even talk about myself? But then I decided that it wasn't going to be any of those things.

"I cried," I began carefully, "Because I missed the guidance I could receive from my mother."

The girl looked at me, confusion filling her eyes. "What happened to your mother?"

"She died many years ago. But I know she's watching me." I replied.

The girl nodded, shifting her position to cover me with her umbrella.

"Thank you."

"It's okay."

"You know, you're not a bad kid."  I said.

"What do you mean?"

"You generously cared for me."

"Well, you were getting wet. I couldn't just let you get sick."

I stared her for a second. I looked at her uniform and saw that she had gone to the same high school as I did.

"I went to your school when I was your age." I pointed out.

"Really? That's a very interesting coincidence." She said excitedly.

I smiled. "Yeah, I agree. You know what? I'll give you my number. I think you'd be someone nice to talk to once in a while."

Hyuntae pondered the idea before handing me her phone. I punched in my number and labeled my contact name as "Mina unnie"

"There." I said, returning her phone. "If you need anything in the future, don't be afraid to text or call me alright?"

"Thank you, Mina unnie."

I smiled. "Why don't you go home? It's getting late."

"Alright. But one last thing!" She said, before leaving.

I nodded.

"Whatever you're going through right now, I just want you to know that you'll be okay. Things that you don't understand right now will be sorted out in the future. So wherever you came from, go back. Take a nap, eat something, and do yourself some good. The future holds great things. Never give up!"

With that, she disappeared into the distance with her umbrella and I was left crying out of happiness.

There had been a day where my mother had said the exact same words.
