Mina PoV

I woke up and all around me was bright white light. My vision slowly came back to me and the events that happened yesterday came at me all at once. I screamed in pain and clutched my head. After it all passed, I looked at my surroundings and finally figured out that I was in a hospital. I looked at my arms. They were bruised, but they were healing. I saw a figure lying beside my bed, gently holding my hand, sleeping.

I sat up, groaning as my back finally got to stretch. I tapped the sleeping body's shoulder and he jolted awake.

"Mina." He said, staring at me breathlessly.

"Uhm...hi?" I said, confused.

"Mina...you're finally awake." The guy said.

"Yeah." I said.

"DOCTOR! DOCTOR!" He yelled.

A doctor and a nurse came rushing in. They immediately began to look at my health and asked me a bunch of questions. What was my name, how old I was, when my birthday was, who my family was, what happened yesterday.

Lee Mina, 24, September 15th, 2000, my dad, two brothers, my sister and me, and I almost died yesterday.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked.

"I'm fine. But what happened yesterday...where is Yerim?" I asked.

"Yesterday?" The doctor raised a brow.

"Yeah, yesterday...the day I almost died, and I kind of wished I did?" I said, just as confused as he was.

"Ahh. No. Mina. Yerim's been arrested and she was sent to prison. She wouldn't be charged for a crime until you woke up. If you ever did. Although you were on the verge of death, some miracle happened and now you live. The judge said that you could take as long as you needed to recover from this traumatizing event, but you would have to go to court 3 weeks after you recover." The doctor explained.

I sat there, speechless, lost and confused. Yerim was arrested? She's in prison? Since when? For how long?

"How...long have I been out?" I asked carefully.

"About a month or so." He said.

"A MONTH?!?!?!?" I shouted, completely disregarding that there were actually other people in this room.

The others were startled awake and stared and yelled my name all at once. I jumped in surprise.

"Noona!" A tall boy said.

"Um...hi?" I asked.

"Noona! Do you know who I am?" He asked.

I stared at him. "Mm...you look familiar, but I don't know you name. Sorry." I shrugged and the boy pouted. He sat back down in his seat and sulked.

"Mina, do you who any of the people in this room are?" The doctor asked.

I nodded and smiled. "Of course I know all these dorks." I grinned.

Jisung looked up at me. "YOU DO KNOW ME?!?!"

I nodded and laughed. "Yes you little chick! OF COURSE I know you. You were sitting next to me in the restaurant!"

Oh, and the guy sitting next to me, Taeyong. I looked around to see if Jaemin was in the room, but he was no where to be found.

"Where is Jaemin?" I asked.

"He went to go visit Yerim." Johnny said.

I scoffed. "Dipshit." I muttered.

"Noona, can I give you a hug?" Chenle asked.

"Of course. Come here you little cutie." I opened my arms and Chenle, being the little baby he was, ran over to and gave me a big hug. I laughed in the process.

"Glad to see you lively and shit, buuuuut YOU LITTLE FUCK HOW COULD YOU JUST STUPIDLY RUN INTO THE RESTAURANT LIKE THAT?!?!?!" Yeseul yelled at me.

I laughed and opened my arms again. "Come here dipshit."

She scoffed, crossed her arms and then walked over to give me a hug.

"That's my bestie." I said.

Yeseul laughed.

I looked over to my brother who just sat there smiling at me. I held his hand tighter. "I'm okay now, TY. I'm okay now."

He nodded and smiled. I could tell that he was trying not to cry. I hugged me and let him cry on my shoulder. Mark walked over and gave me a hug too.

"You don't even know how worried we were." Mark whispered in my ear.

I chuckled. "I can't even imagine."

Suddenly, the door was slammed open and Jaemin stood there, out of breath.

"Mina." He said.

"Hi Nana." I said.

"Y-you're finally a-awake." He said.

"Clearly," I said. "Where were you?"

"I was visiting Yerim for a little while." He said.

He walked over to me and kneeled down next to me. He gently grabbed my hand and held it with both hands.

I looked down at our hands and noticed that Jaemin didn't have a ring anymore. I furrowed my brows.

"You're not engaged anymore?" I asked,"Did the wedding pass already?"

The guys laughed at me. I pouted.

"No. I broke the engagement. After Yerim got arrested a while back, I had to. My father would not allow me to marry a woman who was going to prison. I was so relieved that I didn't have to marry her. I took that ring off my finger right away. But I didn't think it was right to just throw it away. So I gave it to her. That's why I was visiting her today." He looked around the room. "Did no one tell you?"

I glared Johnny and he quickly threw up his hands in defense.

"I guess not." Jaemin chuckled. He stood up and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.

I sat there, shocked at the sudden affection.

"I'm a free man now. So I am going to make things turn out the right way. I won't let what happened after your first hospital trip back in high school repeat itself. Because like I promised, from here on, things will get better." Jaemin smiled and I smiled in return.

Things were definitely going to get better from here. Why?

Because they had to.
