Mina PoV
I ran a hand through my hair as I looked at the mess of papers on my desk. I was working on finalizing the project that Jaemin and I had been collaborating on. Some things were just not processing in my brain at the moment.
"You look tired."
I looked up and saw Jaemin walking towards me with two cups of coffee in hand. I was surprised by his presence as I didn't hear him walk in.
"No, I'm just....nope. I'm tired." I admitted.
Jaemin chuckled and handed a coffee.
I thanked him and reluctantly took a sip, hoping it wasn't Jaemin's "eight shots of espresso" coffee. Thankfully it wasn't. It was sweet, but had a little bit of a bitter aftertaste. Just the way I liked it.
"I made it just like how you wanted it." Jaemin said.
I gave him a thumbs up and set my coffee down before getting back to work.
"How's the finalizing going so far?" He asked.
"It's pretty good so far, but there's just one thing that I'm not getting." I showed him the file and he read it through.
He proceeded to explain to me why this part of our project mattered to our final one and honestly, I was still confused by the end of it, but it began to make more sense. I let Jaemin sign the rest of the papers and took a break. Sipping on my coffee, I looked out at the Seoul skyline.
How I missed the few of Seoul's skyline at night. My thoughts brought me back to that one night, back in high school when we had that one party for mom. I met a mysterious guy, who was honestly, thinking about it now, was very familiar. I got his number and he texted me one or twice.
I jumped in surprise as I felt arms snake around my waist.
"It's me." I heard Jaemin whisper.
I leaned my head back on his shoulder.
"I miss us." Jaemin said.
"I do too." I whispered.
"No, sincerely."
I stood up straight and looked at Jaemin. "And you think I'm not?"
"No, that's not what I mean. Mi-No, I-I just. Argh. It came out the wrong way, I'm sorry." Jaemin apologized.
I gently cupped Jaemin's cheeks. "Hey, it's alright. I know you meant it sincerely. No need to clarify."
He placed a hand on mine and leaned into my touch. He looked at me and smiled. "I'm honestly glad you got Yerim away from me."
I laughed. "Yeah, me too. None of the other guys liked her anyways."
"Because they all knew about your past together."
I agreed.
Silence fell between us, and it soon got a little awkward.
"Why don't we get back to work? I can treat you for dinner tonight?" Jaemin said.
"It's okay. I think we should just head back to the dorm for tonight." I said.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded.
He sighed and then we both got back to work.
-time skip-
We finally finished our work and we headed back home. As I opened the door, I tip-toed inside trying not to wake anyone. Considering that it was already 1am, I would assume that everyone was already asleep.
