Jaemin PoV
I drove Mina, Chenle and Jisung to the mall and we tried to make sure that we weren't recognized. We all put on either a mask or a hat and traveled around the mall. Jisung really wanted to go to the game store, so we decided to take him there. The babies played around with games and finally decided on the latest shooting game. I didn't really care or know what the name was. It looked pretty cool though.
I looked at Mina and observed how happy she had become. Over the years, she had become much stronger and bolder, but remnants of her old, softer self was still there. I will give you another chance. That one sentence continued to linger in my head. When Mina said those words, I thought my heart was going to burst. I couldn't believe that she was going to give me another chance.
A small hand grabbed mine and I looked over to see Mina smiling up at me. I kissed her on the forehead.
"I called your name, but you didn't respond so I was starting to worry." She said.
I smiled. "I'm fine. Where are we headed to next?" I asked.
"Mm...I kind of wanted to go to a bakery." Mina said, thinking out loud.
"Noona! Noona! Can we pweeaaaaseee stay here and play games?" Chenle begged.
"Chenle-yah, you need to stick with us." Mina reasoned.
"But, Noona! Pleeasse!" Jisung whined.
Mina sighed.
"Let them. We can just walk around and stuff. If they want to play in other places, leave them to it. Chenle can call us when they're done. But guys, make sure you're finished before 2:30 because we need to get to practice later." I said.
Mina stood there, thinking about it for a moment while the boys stared hopefully at her.
"Okay, fine. Go. Just be done before 2:30." She sighed.
"Yes!" Jisung and Chenle yelled. They laughed and high-fived before running off into the shop.
"Now, why don't we go to that bakery you wanted to go to." I said.
Mina grinned and skipped off to the bakery.
I looked at her leg, a little scared that she might still be in pain. I noticed a passing train ride coming at Mina, but Mina didn't seem to notice. I ran towards and pulled her out of the train's way just as the train passed. I held her close and tried to catch my breath.
"Yah! You stupid! How could you mindlessly just step in front of the train like that?" I scolded, raising my voice.
Mina looked up at me, fear filling her eyes. "I'm sorry." She whispered.
"Don't ever do that again! You are still hurt, Mina! You need to be careful." I yelled at her.
Tears welled up in her eyes and I could hear light sobs coming from her.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She kept repeating.
I brought her into a hug and stroked her hair.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you. I shouldn't have done that. I was just so scared." I apologized.
I guilt filled me after making Mina cry. She was just as sensitive as she was before. Maybe to the public she was strong and bold like her father, but on the inside she was incredibly fragile, caring and precious like her mother.
I knew her once, her mother. She came to my middle school. I was lost in the hallways and she helped me find my class and she was very nice about it. I later found out that she was Mina's mother. I had no idea who Mina was, to be honest. All I knew was that she was super popular among the guys and all the girls talked trash about her at school. Jeno even liked Mina. Once. That was once.
