I Will Come for You

Part 5

Armin then sat down on one of the beds that was closest to the large door. "So Eren. We are now alone. How are you planning to prove that you are not human?"

Hmm...Oh I know! "I usually don't do this for people I don't know, but I guess I can make an exception." Armin looked at Eren with curiosity and wonder. 

Eren took his hand, with the watch in hand, and placed it on his chest. After taking a deep breathe Eren began to sing. His voice sounded as sweet as honey. It resounded through-out the corridor leaving Armin in awe. Eren stopped singing as he heard the door opening.

"Oi. What's with all the racket?" The one with the strong, yet unamused voice called out to the two teens.

"Sir!" Armin suddenly stood up and saluted to the man. Eren looked over to the door to see a man leaning against the door. His short black hair rested against his forehead. That's when Eren realized.

"L-Levi?" Eren started to walk over to the uniformed captain. The teen smiled as he recognized the man. Yep it's definitely him. Well...his hair is shorter and his clothes are different. but I can tell. Its Levi! Eren smiled and hugged him. Eren rested his head on Levi's broad shoulders.

But as if the teen wasn't there Levi looked at Armin. "Who's this brat?" He shoved Eren to the side and walked towards Armin.

Armin stiffened as his captain walked towards him. "H-Hes Eren sir! I found him by the beach to the East!" 

Eren watched them. W-Wait...Dose he not recognized me? Why is he so rude? I don't remember him like this... He was kind. "Levi...do you not remember me?" 

The man looked back at Eren with a unamused eyes. "What are you talking about?"

Eren holds out the sliver pocket watch with the wingged emblem. "It's been a year since we made our promise. Don't you remember?" 

For a moment Eren thought he could see Levi's eyes shimmer, but he his hopes died with his response. "No. I wouldn't talk to some brat anyway."

"O-Oh I see...Well I'm sorry for intruding. I guess you would want this back. After all it belongs to you." The boy set the watch down on one of the bed. "Goodbye." Eren ran out of the quarters and into the city.

***Levi and Armin***

Armin watched Eren leave. He could only see his face for a second, but it looked as if he was crying. Armin turned to look at Levi and was surprised by what he saw. Levi was now holding the watch that Eren left behind. 

"Tch. It has been a year...huh." He watched Levi rub the emblem carefully. "I'm sorry." 

The captain looks almost...sad? And isn't that what i think it is! "Um...If you don't mind me asking. Isn't that your Watch of Vigilance?"

Levi didn't look back at the blonde, but he nodded his head. "Yeah...You know what that means. Don't you?" 

Of course who wouldn't. Every solider has one all specific to their rank and emblem. And to give such a treasured watch would mean that...He loved him. So even the lone wolf can love. "Yes sir. But why did you lie to him?"

Levi held the watch tighter and walked towards his office. "Because I have a duty here. I don't want Eren to get tied up in my work and mistakes."

Armin almost felt angry. "That's the reason?! Just cause of that reason you caused Eren to cry. He just wanted to meet with you again."

Levi just listened looking at the ground. "And that's why he mustn't see me again...now leave. I need to be by myself." As Levi walked into his office, Armin now had a resolve.

I'm going to bring Eren back.
