When you're in the battlefield, survival is all there is. Death is the only great emotion. |Samuel Fuller
I pushed something off of my chest as I couldn’t breathe.
I slowly opened my eyes as I looked around the room I was in.
I grabbed the tubes going into my nose and pulled them out. I looked back at the monitor and saw that it was off.
I leaned over the bed and throw up whatever was in my stomach.
I rolled back over as I heard something from out in the hallway.
I sat up looking at the door when whatever it was just kept moving away from me.
I looked down at my arm and saw the bandages covering most of my arm.
I rolled off the bed hitting the cold floor with my feet.
I went over to my bag that I had with me that night.
I pushed around inside of it looking for my phone.
I looked at it as it wouldn’t turn on. I tossed it back into my bag when I saw something on the floor.
I went around the front of the bed as I saw that it was blood.
I glanced up at the bathroom door as I pushed it open completely.
I covered my mouth when I saw the nurse in the bath tub with some of her skin missing.
I shook my head when I saw that her left leg was gone.
I stumbled back out of the bathroom when I heard a crash from outside of my room.
I watched the door as I heard the shuffling from outside the door.
I pushed myself back to my bed and waited as the noise vanished once more.
I sat up slowly flinching at the pain in my side.
I bit down on my lip as I started to change into my clothes that were in my bag.
I kept my eye on the nurse in the bathroom as I grabbed my bag from the dresser and move out of the room.
I grabbed the door to my room and pushed it open.
I looked down at the floor and saw all the blood on the floor. I glanced down the hallway when I saw no one around.
I pushed the door open as I walked out into the hallway looking around.
I went over to the nurse’s station.
I sat down behind the computer but it never started up.
I flipped through the papers when I heard something down the hallway.
I glanced up stopping what I was doing.
I kept going through the papers when I found my papers.
