“Lauren Andrews that is all we can get about you.”
I glanced up as I felt the blood drip from my lip.
The man looked back at me, “You were running, why you were running?”
I remained silent when a fist came down on my jaw once more.
I groaned out as I spit out the blood that was collecting in my mouth.
He bent down to me with a smile, “You think you are gonna get away with this?”
I looked up at him, “What do you want from me?”
“You were found with an older lady and a little girl.”
I watched him walk around me.
“You were found with an older lady and a little girl.” He raised his voice a bit more.
“Fine, I was found with them.”
“The older lady, who is she?”
“She is someone from my camp.”
“The little girl, what about her and what can you say about her?”
“She is just a little kid, you can't hurt her!” I shouted back at him.
The man walked down to me, “You think I wanna hurt her?”
I glanced up at him.
“Where did you find her?”
“Why would you release INFECTED when you are trying to find your daughter?”
The man stopped and looked back at me.
“I could tell by the way you handled her the other day, the way you grabbed her and hugged her. She wasn’t some random kid you found in a car on the side of the road. You were looking for your daughter.”
The man shook his head back at me.
I cracked a smile back at him, “I saw your wedding band. It matched her mothers.”
He hit me again across the face.
I laughed back at him, “Why torture the people that saved your daughter?”
He grabbed my chin and looked down into my eyes, “You were not there to save her.”
I spit blood back into his face, “You are right. I was there for another reason.”
He stepped back wiping the blood from his face.
“So tell me why I was there.” I looked back at him.
He glared back at me, “You were gonna hurt my daughter. You wanna gonna use her as bait when the time came.”
I laughed back at him, “You sick piece of shit. You think I would do that to a kid?”
