Morgan rubbed his side as he glanced back at me.

I looked out over the road as we had stayed in some house over the night after running from the wall. We were a few hours outside of Texas and away from everyone else.

I glanced back at him, “What are you doing?”

Morgan walked over to me, “Are you gonna be ok?”

I nodded my head back at him when someone knocked on the door. I glanced up as McKenzie walked into the room.

I looked back at her, “What are you doing?”

“I have been in some houses while y’all were resting and I found this.” she tossed the map over to me.

I unfolded it and saw it.

“That’s not that far from here.”

“This is in Canada McKenzie, this is like 5 states above us!” I said back to her.

“If there is a chance that there is a place free of this then what are we doing here?”

I folded the map back up and tossed it back at her, “You can go but I'm not.”

“Lauren, I'm not leaving you.” McKenzie said back to me.

“I have the disease running through my veins. There is no way I can take a step into that place without them killing me or any of you if they catch me with you.” I said back to her.

McKenzie shook her head back at me, “I am so fucking tired of you acting like the victim! You are fine and you are coming with us!”

Morgan slipped his shirt on, “Your sister is right, we are all going there.”

I shook my head with a laugh, “You are all stupid for thinking that I could be with you in a place like that. They check every day for stuff like that. They are always checking for INFECTED.”

                McKenzie looked at me confused.

“How do you know that?” Matt blurted out.

“They did all the time at the hospital.” I said back to him.

“You said that you woke up like a few weeks ago, a long time after this had already happened.” Matt looked back at me.

McKenzie cracked a smile, “That is how you knew Johanna would be there. You stayed with her at the hospital. You knew about this.”

I looked back at her, “I'm sorry McKenzie.”

“You said you were in a coma during those few months. You made me believe that you weren’t around or that you had no clue of this. But you actually knew about this, you knew about everything.”

                 I glared back at her.

“You fucking knew about this and you fucking know about this safe zone?”
