Lauren's POV:
I woke up relaxed and refreshed until a wave of panic hit me realizing I'm not in my own bed. What the fuck?
I looked over to the left side of me to see the sheets still tucked. Confused, I got up out of bed and went outside of the room.
"Morning Marty." Someone said making me jump.
I turned around to see Cody in his pajamas making breakfast in the kitchen. "Holy fuck, don't scare me like that."
"Sorry." He said as he chuckled.
"Ok not gonna lie I totally forgot where I was."
He laughed, "Makes sense you crashed out at like 11, you grandma."
I rolled my eyes at him and stuck out my tongue. "Shut up."
"Hey I'm making you breakfast and you got a whole bed to yourself."
"Wait you are?" I asked. Cody didn't have to go out of his way and make me food. I was planning on leaving and getting breakfast on the way home or something.
"Yeah, of course. Don't worry about it Lauren."
"Oh ok, thank you." I said a bit quietly as I looked down at my feet.
"Oh yeah there's a spare toothbrush in the bathroom over there."
"Thanks Cody." I smiled at him before heading out to the bathroom.
As soon as I walked in, I opened the brand new toothbrush and used it. When I looked up into the mirror after wiping my mouth I could see my cheeks had a light rosy tint on them.
This boy really does me wonders. I thought to myself before exiting the bathroom.
"Thanks again for letting me sleepover Cody."
"Yeah, of course."
There was an awkward pause before I asked him a question.
"Wait, where did you sleep if I slept in a bed? And how did I get there?"
"You love asking questions don't you, Marty?"
"Shut up and just answer them." I retorted rolling my eyes as I took seat on of the stools near the kitchen counter.
"Alright, jeez." He put his hands up defensively. "After you passed out on my lap, I carried you into my room. So, you could sleep then, I just slept in the guest room."
Cody rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Aw, I'm sorry if it was difficult for you to carry my fat ass." I laughed.
"You were actually pretty light, to be honest. It's a wonder how you hit homers."
"Ugh, rude!" I playfully pushed him over the sink.
"I'm kidding." He smiled up at me.
I couldn't help but get lost in his eyes. We were just staring at each other for a solid minute and inching closer before I smelled something burning.
I pulled away to see what was happening. The toast in the toaster was completely black and smoking. "Uh, Cody?"
"What?" He turned around. "Oh shit!"
He took out the burnt toast with his bare hands but couldn't hold in his hands in time to throw it away so he tossed it onto the counter. "Fuck, fuck."
"Smart move hon." I smirked at him as I looked at the trail of crumbs all over the place.
He rolled his eyes at her and scooped the toast again but with a napkin, collecting the crumbs as well.
