Adeen was alone. She poked her head out into the corridor to make sure no one was walking in the hall before she made the phone call. Once she knew it was clear, she dialed the number into her phone. She waited through two dial tones before the person finally answered.
"Hello, professor, it's Adeen...I'm fine, how are you?...That's good...I have a favor to ask you...Can you find a mutant for me?...Her name is Jade O'Sullivan...her mutant ability is to change her hair and face when she needs a disguise... oh my God, she's there with with you? I'll be there as soon as possible...Thank you Professor Xavier...Good-bye."
Adeen ended the call and took a deep breath. She jumped when she heard a voice behind her.
"What was that about?"
Adeen cursed under her breath, hating the fact that she hadn't paid close enough attention to the door. She spun around to find Steve and Tony standing there.
"Was that about your sister?" Steve asked this time, blocking the door.
"None of your business."
Adeen tried to walk past them, but they continued to barricade the door. She crossed her arms across her chest and glared at them.
"Adeen, we're a team. We want to help you, but we can't do that if you won't let us." Steve explained to her.
"Do I bother you about your life? Do I ask you personel questions? No, so leave me alone."
"But how can you trust the man who ruined your life?" Tony asked, not letting the subject fade away into the distant.
"He had schiziophrenia and was being controlled by someone! You don't know what the Hell your talking about! Shut the Hell up! (Author's notes: I'm in love with the movie Just Like Heaven and Mark Ruffalo and I just had to use that quote.)
Before Tony or Steve could continue to pester her on the topic, Bruce appeared behind the two men and pushed through them to get into the room. He looked at the two men then to Adeen. He knew something was up.
"Fury wanted me to tell you the psych docter is here." he slolwy explained.
Adeen pushed through the two men and angrily left. Bruce eyed Steve and Tony curiously.
"What was that all about?" he asked them both.
"Her sister may be alive..." Tony answered.
"And she may have found her." Steve added.
"And we don't believe it to be true..." Tony finished.
Bruce looked extremely annoyed at the two.
"You're so helpful guys, way to be there for her." Bruce sarcastically assured them, walking past the two attempting to leave the room.
"We're always there for Adeen." Tony told his friend.
This caused Bruce to stop in his tracks. He didn't turn around or look at them. He stood there staring at the wall.
"You don't know about the Hell she has been through. You have no idea how much pain she goes through each day...You haven't known her as long as I have. I know every horrible thing that has happened to her, and I hate that I can't do anything to take away the pain. Now I'm going to support my friend and protect her from the shrink who will possibly take her off the team."
Bruce then disappeared down the hall with Tony and Steve gaping at where Bruce had stood a moment ago. They looked at each other then bolted out of the room to catch up with Bruce.
Author's notes: if ya'll didn't figure this out already, no one knows that Bruce and Adeen are dating except for Clint. Just thought ya'll should know that.
