Tootsies Nashville Tennessee
The music poured out of the open doors of the honky tonks along Broadway. Night had fallen upon Music City. The lights were dimly lit in Tootsies, people talking loudly over each other having a good time, forgetting about daily and worldly problems. Pictures of country legends lined the walls, hiding the dark brown wooden walls behind them; neon slogans were lit up on the walls. A tiny stage was pressed against the right corner of the building by the window; instruments and a stool occupied it, waiting for the performers to return to the stage. Tables and bar stools lined the wall of photos, people occupying the seats or standing by them. The bar was on the left side of the building and was made of wood that stretched down almost entirely to the window. A man walked into the bar wearing a black button up shirt, blue jeans, and a black Stetson that covered his eyes. His skin was a deep tan; his brown curls peeked out slightly from underneath his hat. A go-tee occupied around his mouth and chin. He sat down at an empty seat at the bar. The bartender walked over to him and looked at him. It was a fairly pretty woman with long curly black hair, golden brown eyes, and was wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and a tan colored woven cowgirl hat. She smiled sweetly down at the man.
“May I get you anythin’, sir?” she sweetly asked him in a southern accent.
The man looked up at the girl with his chestnut brown eyes.
“A water would be fine.”
“All right, darlin’.” She responded nicely, walking away from him.
“Damn, Bruce, rugged, bad ass suits you well.” Tony’s voice filled his ear.
Bruce chuckled some, hearing his friend’s voice over the earpiece. The waitress came back and placed the glass of water in front of him.
“Thanks.” He told her, smiling lightly up at her.
“No problem, sweetheart.” She sweetly told him, winking at him then walked away.
“Thanks for the compliment, Tony.” Bruce sarcastically responded quietly, rolling his eyes.
“How did you manage to pull off looking and being a bad ass?”
“Um, did you forget who my fiancé is?” Bruce asked, chuckling softly. “She’s the one who helped me out here…I don’t normally dress this way…or go undercover…”
“Well, you pull it off my science bro. So do you see any sign of our person of interest?”
“Nope, not yet…” Bruce responded, looking around the bar casually trying to find signs of if the guy was here or not. “Are you guys sure he’s going to be here?”
“Yeah, he always comes there Friday night at this time.” Steve answered this time.
“All right, well, he’s not here yet but I’ll keep you guys posted if I get anything.”
“All right, just don’t get caught doing it.”
Bruce chuckled quietly at that last statement.
