By the next day, I couldn't help but allow the thoughts of Suri fester, thinking of what she would wear tonight. Personally, I wouldn't mind if she bore nothing, but it is a public event & seeing her in her birthday suit should be for my eyes only. Plus, this event is very, very important to not just the force, but myself as well.

I've been keeping tabs of the bastard that killed my family, and of course, he's been chatting to some well known high-profile criminals in the city about a blackjack, suit & tie party happening at a Casino that's been on the LAPD's list of rogue business establishments to be raided.

Tonight, I planned on catching the asshole first hand and putting a bullet between his eyes. He doesn't deserve to live, and I have nothing else to truly live for, so I look forward to killing him in cold blood, the exact same way he killed mi familia.

"Axel." A stern voice spoke from behind me and I swiveled around in the chair to see the Sergeant standing next to the Captain of the precinct. "—You seem to be in deep thoughts, you sure you have a clear enough head to proceed with tonight's mission?"

I nod. "Yes sir, I'm more than prepared."

"Alright, well, just so you know, this isn't some rodeo giddy up you're used to up north, this is Los Angeles, and we do things very different down here. If I get any sign that you're going to F up this investigation, I will pull you out quicker than you can say wooha!"

I tried my best to stifle the laugh, pressing my lips together and nodding slowly. "I promise, I'll be on my p's and q's. I want to put this guy away more than anyone else, you know this Serg."

"Don't let your obsession with getting him lead to ending your career, García. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go over the firearms and ammo budget with the Captain."

I sent them both off with a salute and got back to working, more so gathering all necessary paperwork that internal affairs will comb over if there's a shooting. Honestly I can't say if, because there will be, no doubt.

Hours passed by, detectives left their posts to head home, and eventually it was time for me to head out as well. I went back to my place to get ready, but I stopped by the cleaner's to pick up my suit for tonight's event.

I'm keeping it classy—black tuxedo paired with all black oxfords and a matching colored bow tie, that was specially equipped with wiring to communicate with other undercover agents in attendance.

I pulled into my driveway, carrying the suit inside my home and started to shower then dress. I text Suri to make sure she was also getting ready, and I hoped she was. God I can't wait to get this over with.
