He liked her, like really liked her, but after what just happened he doubted she would speak to him again. She was as mad as a cut snake the way she stormed off. There hadn't been a door but he was certain he'd heard one slam. He couldn't blame her or anyone for these events. Without his knowledge, he'd lied to her, lead her on even. He felt sick. She was a one-off and he blew it.

With a frustrated sigh, he pushed away from his computer desk situated in the lounge room. The moment he had handed over his brother's number to her he'd felt his heart drop. He was used to that feeling, just not with her and that made it different.

The sparkling lights of Sydney shown against the curtain of night as he stared out the large floor to ceiling windows. Since the morning he met Tabitha he felt the slight tug in his ribcage towards her. She was witty and full of life. Her drunken babbling had taken him by surprise and he had thanked whoever was responsible for the timing. If it had been his brother... well, he didn't want to think about that.

Any moment now she would dial his number. The selfish part of him hoped that his brother wouldn't answer the call. Chances were he was still off the grid, no doubt moments away from a heap of trouble. That was the thing with his younger brother, he had a tendency to cause problems wherever he went.

For once though, he was worried his brother had met his match. Tabitha was a lot of things but a pushover wasn't one of them. She was a woman with one hell of a grudge and his brother happened to be in her cross hare.

He loved his brother, more than he cared to admit to most, but in a small way, he hoped Tabitha ripped him a new one. No one but Noah and Sienna had ever tried to slap sense into the boy, it would be interesting to see how this panned out. His brother needed a good ass chewing.

But did it have to be her? Did it have to be someone he finally felt a connection with? Noah wished he hadn't felt the fire between them but it was undeniable. It was there and he wanted to fan the flame. The only problem was, could he really steal a girl his brother had first?
