Grounded

Dream and Nightmare hoped into the lone living room of the dark Castle, both of them talking in loud, joyous voices.

Yet, their laughter died down the moment they saw Cross's annoyed, very angered expression.

"Where were you two?"

His voice was dark and definitely angry.

He came back into the living room twenty minutes after the twins had left. That was nearly eight hours ago. He had tried calling Nightmare on his old phone, but found it in their room. He then tried Dream, since he was the only person that his King would've left with, nothing.

He had been worried sick! He didn't know where they were, or who Night was with! And because of all of this, he couldn't teleport or open a portal to get the Ex-Guardian!

NM gulped lightly, quickly figuring out that his twin lied about talking with Cross.

"Everywhere." He squeaked out, taking a tiny step back.

Dream very much noticed the difference and he felt something was crawling down his back.

"We were just having some fun!" He chirped, trying to pretend like he wasn't seeing the murderous look the other was giving him. "I thought taking him out of some lonely Castle and seeing other AUs would do him some good!" He gave a happy clap as if to prove what he was saying.

The Codebreaker's mouth twisted into a snarl, his mouth moving to open. But then he stopped, his head tilting lightly to the side. Chara must've been talking to him.

Giving a heavy sigh, he allowed his snarl to lighten into a glare.

"Fine." He growled lowly, most likely talking to Chara. "Get out of my home, Dream. You can see my King later."

The yellow skeleton wasn't given the chance to talk his way into getting his brother out of there, instead, he simply was tossed into another portal leading to some random AU, Cross didn't care.

The monochrome monster stared down at his lover, who simply held his head down.

Seeing the defeated, cowardly way his love held himself, he couldn't get mad... He couldn't find it in himself to hurt the smaller.

"Night..." The taller carefully walked over to the other, gently raising their chin so they could be looking each other in the eyes. "I'm not mad, alright... You didn't know, did you?"

The King nodded slowly, trying not to break into tears. He felt guilty... So damn guilty...

"It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you, not when you didn't know." Cross's hand moved towards the smaller's cheek, lovingly cupping it. "But I don't want you to leave the Castle again, not for a small while, alright?"

Again, a nod was his answer.

The taller's lips pulled into a kind smile, he placing a sweet kiss on the top of the other's head.

"Good. It won't be long, I promise." Being careful with Night's still existing bruises, the white wearing monster picked him up. "Now, let's get some food and cuddle for the rest of the night."

Nightmare nodded again, relaxing slowly. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the sweetness that Cross was showing him. It been a while since Cross had done this without prying eyes.

Though being basically grounded wasn't going to be fun... He knew that for sure.
