Shantey's vocals to a new track she recorded plays around the studio as sings along with the words, wholeheartedly vibing to her own music. Shawnee was in the studio along with her. After the release of her single Ex and she was receiving positive feedback from it, she decided to fly Shawnee to California to help work on her upcoming tracks for her EP. Shawnee stands bobbing his head to the song while chewing his food.
Since returning from New York, her focus has been on her son and recording. She was barely even staying at Tavon's house, she was putting her focus on recording the tracks and writing. All-nighters in the studio was her life for the past week. She would spent a few hours with Romeo and when he falls asleep, she's back the studio with Shawnee writing and recording.
When she hears her iPhone chime, her eyes opened as she leans forward and Chanel case covered phone. She sees it's her manager updating her on her Spotify streams for her single Ex.
"One million streams!"
"Aye!" Shawnee hypes with her, slapping his hand down on hers. "That's what I'm talkin' bout right there."
Shantey shakes her shoulders with a wide grin as her phone rings from an incoming call. She looks at the screen seeing someone saved under Brown requesting to FaceTime. She turns the songs off as she presses the green icon to accept the call. It connects for a few before their face covers the screen.
It was no other than one of the dopest musicians in the business, Chris Brown. Both of them met each other back in 2008 at a festival being thrown in Virginia. She was a newbie to the music industry while he was already in the game a few years before her. When they met, he has always been who he was today. He never changed. They formed a bond that was more like brother-sister. They could both call on each other if need be.
"Broooown!" Shantey drags out through her small laughter.
