Jekyll's POV

"Now sir, what is troubling you?" Poole asks.

I take a moment and take another sip of my tea, pushing the urge to yell deep down, then I speak to him. "Something is wrong Poole... something is very wrong." I answer.

"What might you mean sir?"

"I mean with my experiment. The most recent one if you remember."

"The one with trying to split the good and bad, sir?"

"Yes Poole..."

"Are you in a comfortable position to talk about it, sir?"

"I don't know Poole... I don't know who I can tell and who I can't."

"You can always tell me, sir. If I am ordered to not say anything to anyone else then I will not say a word to any man, living or dead."

I chuckle a little at his response. "You're a good man Poole. I've always been able to trust you, you've never once given me a reason to not trust you."

"So, sir?"

"I'm still deciding.. Poole I gave you a key to all the doors in the house didn't I?"

"Yes sir, you did."

"If I were to go mad, but before I did I told you to take my keys and lock me in a room.. would you do it?"

"Sir?-"

"Would you do it Poole?"

Poole looks hesitant.. almost as if, if he answered wrong I wouldn't trust him, but he answers me. "I would sir, because if you ordered me is one thing, but if that were to happen to you but the last conscious decision of yours would be to lock you in a room then for your own good, I would do so. And I wouldn't let you out until the normal consciousness returned and asked me to do so."

"Good. In case you were nervous, you gave the right answer."

Poole nods, and takes a sip of his tea, then he looks at me as I finish mine and pour more for myself.

"I can pour you more if you need it sir."

"I know Poole, sometimes I just like to pour my own."

Poole nods once more.

"Poole.. my experiment-...." A pain strikes me

"Sir?.. sir are you alright?"

"No.. no it's happening again-AGH" I drop the cup onto the table as I try to stand, but I fall to the floor.

"Sir!"

"Poole please! h-help me-AGH t-to my s-study! OUCH!!"

Poole looks scared for a second, but within a moment he helps me up and helps me towards my private study as I continue to yell in shocks of pain. When we get in I shove him towards the door and throw him my keys. "Poole don't leave but lock the door!" He does as he's told, then looks at me.

"Sir what's happening?!"

"It's the experiment-AGHH!!!" I scream as I fall to the floor in pain. Poole gets to my side, and I continue to yelp and scream as pain surges through my body. "Poole p-please t-tie-AGHH m-me up! I-I can't hurt-t you if I'm t-tied. AGHHHH." I scream.

Poole is hesitant, but grabs some ropes I have in a drawer and ties me to my study chair as I asked. I tell Poole in my fit of pain to hide his keys, and to toss mine under the door. I don't think Hyde will escape, but if he does, then he can't find the keys. I also tell Poole that he will meet someone else, they will not be me. All he has to know until it's over is that it's the defect of the experiment.
