Jekyll's POV

I rub Edward's back for a moment, then talk to him. "I'm sorry I scared you Edward.. after we came apart though, you heard me say-"

"B-But how?! Why?"

"It was my decision. What you and others didn't know was that deep inside me, I felt pity for Edward. Every time he held his throat because I threatened suicide I felt pity. Even when we fought and I stared into his eyes before looking away, I felt pity."

I was silent for a moment because of the memory, then reply. "Yes, that."

"I'm sorry, I don't know quite how to control this yet, I was trying to only see it myself, not for both of us."

"It's alright Edward, we'll practice some more and get better at it."

"Alright."

I look at Edward, kind of wanting to give him a hug and say goodnight, but it's still a little awkward at times because of what he had done.. so I just turn around and leave the room.

Over the course of the next few days, Edward continues to disappear to heaven knows where. I go to his room each night and he's either staring up at the moon, or gone. I don't know if he goes out for a walk, a drink, to use his inhuman abilities, but I have no way to track where he goes. He just, leaves.

While I'm asleep one night, there's a small light that blurs, it slowly becomes more clear, then suddenly a horrifying looking face of a ghost jumps at me.

In reality now I sit up quickly and breathe heavily. Whatever that thing was scared me half to death! It came at me so fast.. after a few hours I am able to fall back asleep, and sleep until morning.

3rd person POV

Jekyll wakes up not long after sunrise like he always does, but Hyde is sleeping in, a great deal of it as well.

Jekyll goes to his lab and begins to work, testing chemicals, looking at what he has, wondering if he should test more experiments or not. Soon though, Jekyll realizes he still hasn't heard a single word from or about Hyde since yesterday. In curiosity, Jekyll goes to Hyde's room to see what might be happening. When he carefully opens the door, he notices that it's almost noon and Hyde is still asleep, cuddled up in the covers.

Jekyll chuckles a little as Poole walks to him.

"Is Mr. Hyde still asleep?"

"He is, you tried to wake him?"

"I did sir, three times for breakfast but he wouldn't wake, he'd tell me 'just a few more minutes' but he never came down. It's been like that the past few mornings."

"I've seen him at night either staring at the moon or gone, I wonder if he's staying up all night to cause these mornings in."

"I wonder indeed sir."

"Poole."

"Yes sir?"

"I would like all of you to obey Edward like you obey me. I will talk with him to make sure he won't abuse that power, but I request you serve him as well."

"Yes sir, if that is what you ask. I'll go tell the others."

"Alright, thank you."

Poole gives a small nod and then leaves. When he's left, Jekyll returns his gaze to Hyde still asleep. Jekyll then walks in and sits on the side of the bed, putting an arm around Hyde to grab one of his arms and lightly shake him. "Edward.. Edward wake up." Jekyll says gently.

"Mmmm... go away... I'm, tired..."

"Hmhm. I know you are Edward, but it's me, Henry, will you wake up for me?"

"...maybe.." Hyde turns around tiredly and looks at Jekyll with hazy exhausted eyes.

"Hey there brother. How'd you sleep?"

"Fine."

"Nothing else just, fine?"

"Mhm.. why'd you come in?"

"I wanted to see if you were alright, you've been staying up incredibly late ever since you got your own body and I'm concerned. I don't want you to exhaust yourself Edward."

"I'm alright Henry, I just.. like the moon... Anything else?"

"Yes. Poole went to tell the others, but I am going to have them serve and respect you how they do me."

"Wait." Hyde sits up. "Really? You want them to do that?"

"Yes Edward. You can't abuse that power, but I'll let you have it."

"Wow Henry.. I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything. But know that Poole will be in here every morning asking what you want for breakfast, he will also ask for lunch and dinner 1 hour prior to each."

"Alright. Thanks"

"Don't mention it." Jekyll smiles a little to Hyde. Hyde gives a small smile back. After a moment of silence, Jekyll leaves the room, leaving Hyde to his own thoughts. Hyde glances at the mirror in his room, then gets up to go look inside it. When he does he sees himself, but before he was separated from Jekyll. The evil demon inside.

"I thought you were vanquished. Destroyed after pried away from Jekyll." The image in the mirror shows the same picture on the outside. An almost depressed looking Edward Hyde, confused on what to do. Suddenly the picture smiles evilly at Edward and Edward jumps back with a yelp, the image fades as he leaves the mirror. Afraid of it, Hyde puts a sheet over it so he won't have to see the mirror move again.

'Why the hell did it smile at me?' Hyde thought to himself. Trying to ignore it, Hyde gets dressed and leaves the room. He goes to the lab and finds Jekyll reading in there. Hyde comes behind the chair that Jekyll is in, he wants to interrupt Jekyll to talk about what's been happening, but he doesn't know how. So Hyde just wraps his arms around Jekyll from behind.

Jekyll for a moment thought that maybe Y/N was let in by Poole, but then he realized that the arms around him were too different to be Y/N's arms. He looked up to see Hyde the one doing it, and hugged him back from the chair, then a moment later got up and gave Hyde a full hug. Hyde looked a little surprised to have a response like that. He expected something a little more harsh, like a slap or screaming. But it actually felt nice to have that hug. The hug is something that Hyde needed.

Hyde felt better, less afraid. That is until he saw the mirror. The same image in the mirror of the two hugging each other quickly changed into the old Edward Hyde, smiling evilly with a knife in his hand, then shoving it in to Jekyll's back, blood spilling out rapidly.

Hyde in fear hugged Jekyll tighter, and Jekyll responded the same, but he thought it was because Hyde wanted more love. Hyde suddenly lets go and walks off, looking at chemicals and books that Jekyll has..
