Chapter 26

Aria's Pov

I felt completely paralyzed.

I was moving but I didn't know how.

I didn't move for a while before I was able to move my fingers and open my eyes.

My eyes felt like something bwas forcing them shut, so I drifted my arm to my face and rubbed around my eyes noticing dry bits of,.... I don't know.

After that I opened my eyes and tried to adjust to the light.

When my eyes finally adjusted I saw Jasper staring back at me.

"W-what?" I said, he was carrying me.

"Nothing except that you are covered completely by your own blood." He said reading my expression.

"What really? Let me go! I can walk on my own." I snapped.

"I don't think you can walk on that leg." He said.

"Why not.... Hey... Where's As-...." I kept quiet.

'Ash...' I searched my head for any sign of him. He didn't answer.

I felt a mixture of sadness and guilt forming in my heart.

"Why are you sad?...- Actually scratch that. Why did you jump out of a ten kilometer off the ground building?"

I ignored him as I wriggled out of his grip.

"Let me go!" I yelled kicking and waving my arms around to make his grip a bit weaker.

My right ankle hit the ground and I hissed.

"Se-"

"Let me go this instant or I will throw a cannon ball at you." I shot back.

He seemed taken aback by the way I talked to him, but he still didn't let go.

"And from where are you going to get a cannon ball from?" He asked sarcastically.

I hate people who act sarcastic.

"Let -" I freeze at I hear the familiar voice in my head.

'Princess Aria?... Please help us... The children." His voice was scared but he was in trouble.

I look over Jasper's shoulder, the building was falling to the ground bit by bit it was crumbbling.

I gotta do something I can't just sit here and act pretty and wait for good things to happen.

I swear I didn't know what I was doing, because the next thing I knew I was bitting his shoulder as hard as I can, with those sharp fangs that I keep hidden it did make a better advantage.

He flinched.

"Let go!" I said my teeth digging deeper.

He looks at me, "Fine just stop."

"Finally." I stand on my two feet putting most of the weight on my left foot.

I half run to the building, but Jasper held tight on my wrist, with his shoulder completely healed.

I glare at him.

He glares back.

I feel a tingle on power and energy burst out of my hand.

I pulled my handed and looked at Jasper who was surprised, I look at his hand which looked swollen.

I look at my hand then look back at his hand.

I run and transform mid-jump to a pheonix and fly to the building leaving Jasper shocked.

I fly inside the building in less that 3 seconds and find the familiar flame.

I fly towards it and find Ash and the children scared.

I land on my left foot and give them my back and lower myself, to let them know that I want them to climb on my back.

Ash understood and told everyone to get on my back.

I open my wings and flap hard and get as far away from the building ,that just collapsed to the ground.

Is less than 2 seconds.

Okay I gotta admit that my speed did improve.

I land, a kilometer away from the place I left Jasper, and let the kids down.

Some of them were shivering and the others were freezing cold and were sneezing.

I let all the kids down and shifted back to human standing on my left foot.

Some of the children came to help me out.

I felt kinda sorry for them, wait... Now that I think about it where is Billy?

"Thanks kids I'm going to sit down now." I said to the kids as I lowered myself to sit.

When the kids were sure that I sat down all of them sat in front of me.

I look for Ash who was sitting in the far edge of the dirt road.

"Red?..." I asked gently.

"I'm sorry...." He spoke.

I look over at the children expecting them to be surprised, but it never came. Each one was sitting on their legs and looking at their hands, some of them even crying.

I looked back at him.

"I told them, and if your asking about Mr Billy, he got squashed by a big piece of concrete."

My heart skips a beat.

I feel my heart grow rapid as the pain grows.

Okay... I'm the grown up here and I have to act like one.

Even though my eyes are welling, I have to stay strong.

I felt something flicker in my hand.

"How is that possible!?"

Everyone looks at me including Ash at my sudden out burst but his eyes go wide as well as the kids.

I made fire form in my hand. Well at least it's useful.

I told the kids to gather around it I tried making the flame last for as long as I can.
