*Luna's POV*
I walked around the Pack looked at everyone to see who is fit to be Alpha. Noelle doesn't want to have her pups to be Alpha so there is some Pack members off the list. I don't know how an Alpha is chosen. Back at my Pack when I was younger, my father was Alpha and he was cruel to everyone. He wanted everyone in the Pack to bully me when I was Omega and killed my twin sister. I had to run away for my own safety. I wanted to become a loner before I met all of the wolves, foxes and tiger that needed help. I walked over to Sakura seeing as she wasn't with anyone.
"When should we start the meeting to see who should be Alpha," I asked.
"How am I supposed to know, you are the one who got us all together," she answered respectfully.
I sighed and walked over to the Alpha's den and howled, signalling everyone to come towards the den.
"Today we all need to assign the Alpha so we all have a leader to look up to," I called out, "From when I was a pup, I saw that the members who want to be Alpha have to fight against each other so when we get a new Alpha, I don't want anyone to be negative towards each other."
"So anyone who wants to be Alpha, go towards the fighting pit so we can begin this," I finished.
I walked away from the Alpha's den and towards the fighting pit hoping that Sakura would not be willing to fight other wolves to become Alpha.
I stepped up to the fighting circle and sat down, waiting for the other opponents to show up. Behind me, I smell all the rest of the Pack show up some curious, some scared, some feeling overconfident, and some brave. I turn around I only see Ash, my cousin, and Mark, a former loner.
"Who will fight first?" Mark asked.
"Each of us can choose one person and they can choose the opponents. Then, the winner of that fight will fight the last of them," I explained, "You can choose first Mark."
"I choose Jack," he said immediately.
"Ash you next," I said.
"I will choose..." she trails off, "You can go choose first."
I rolled my eyes.
"I choose Sakura," I said.
I watch as Jack and Sakura walk up. I noticed Jack looking at Mark with a look of worry. My heart softened at the sight of it and it looks like Mark noticed too. He is looking at Jack and telling him through eye contact that he is going to be okay.
"I choose Estrella," Ash finally said.
"What gave you that realization," I asked.
"I picked the first one I saw," she answered.
I rolled my eyes and waited for the chosen people to choose.
"Ash and Mark," Jack said.
"Luna and Mark," Sakura said.
"Wow Mark is famous today," Ash gasped.
"Shut up Ash," I growled.
"Luna and Ash," Estrella said.
"Is there anyone in the crowd who wants to vote for the fight?" I asked.
Aaron stepped up and looked at Jack and gave him a hopeful look.
"I say Ash and Luna," Aaron said.
I see Jack smile and gave him a thankful nod. Mark looked over at Jack and his face softened.
I stepped into the soft white sand, soon to turn red. My cousin stepped up, anger on her face for me, I
growingled at her. I knew she was going to try her hardest to become Alpha but I was going to too.
I bared my teeth to show Ash that I wasn't going down without a fight. I started to circle, head and tail low. Deep down in my stomach, I knew what was going to happen. I saw her muscles tense, I knew she was ready to pounce. She aims to hit my stomach. I ducked down and clawed at her stomach. She whimpered and her jump faltered, ending up with her landing on the ground on her side. She slowly got back up and got into position. I can smell fear radiating off of her. Her stomach was dripping with blood. Her fur was now becoming a mix of red and gray.
I see she was getting ready to make another desperate attack for my neck. I step to the side and as she was still laying on the ground, I put my weight and made her stay down. I reach my head up and quickly jerked my head to nip her on the ear. She flinched, thinking I was going to bite her neck.
"I quit, I quit," she quickly said.
I got off her and bowed my head. Some of her blood covered my white fur but not my black. She got up and bowed too.
"That way we can rest, we are going to take a break," I said looking quickly to Jack.
I was going to talk to Jack. I walked away from the now red and white sand and towards the clearing. I see Jack talking to Mark and bowed his head as a form of saying goodbye. Mark bowed his head and walked away. I walked to Jack.
"Hi Jack," I said politely.
"Hi," he replied.
"During the competitions I saw that you were worried about Mark, is there anything you want to tell me about him," I asked, "You don't have to tell me."
"Uh, sure but not here," he said.
He looked around and saw a spot that no wolves were around. It was a willow tree, its branches hanging down like a curtain. He walked to that spot and moved the leaves out of the way. Under the tree, he laid down and sighed. I lay down across from him.
"I have a crush on Mark, it developed during the time it was only me and him around and now that he is competing for Alpha and saw how you won against Ash, I'm scared for him," he confessed.
"Please don't hurt my Markimoo as much as Ash, during the fight I saw how much fear she had in her eyes. She didn't expect you to be a challenge since you don't look like much like me," he said, tears coming to his eyes.
"I promise I won't scratch his stomach but I'm still competing for Alpha, I don't want this Pack to become my father's Pack. He tormented everyone there. I was about to be Alpha and the ritual there is pure evil. My brother is probably Alpha there now," I said, the horrible memories coming to me.
"Also I have another question for you, what position of a Pack do you want to be in," I asked my head tilting.
"I'll be fine with Omega, everyone in the Pack seems nice so I hope I can just help everyone here without them hurting me. If that does happen and happen too much I will fight to become a Hunter," he explained.
I nodded and bowed my head. He bowed his head and said thank you.
"Thank you for what?" I asked.
"Thank you for not wanting to hurt Mark and wanting to become a good Alpha," he said with a smile.
"You're welcome," I said.
I walked out of the willow tree. I was thinking about turning that into a place for conferencing or a place for pups to sleep at. I saw that the Pack was heading back to the sandpit so I sighed and headed over there too. I saw Jack walking next to Mark and looked at me with calm in his eyes knowing that the two wolves fighting would be good Alphas and knowing that Mark will be fine.
I walked into the sandpit and faced Mark. Mark's muscles were showing through his fur so I know he will be a tough fighter. I started with the first pounce. I aimed to push him on his side. He quickly turned his head and bit the scruff of my neck. He bit down hard and threw me to the side. Mark has been a loner for longer than me, so he might have attacked bears. I will need to be smarter if I want to beat him.
I got up and started to circle him. I look at all the possible places I can attack. I run behind him and jumped onto his back. I bit his scruff and put my weight to the side. My scruff was throbbing from where he bit me. I jumped off his back as he started falling to the side. I landed and jumped back on him. I clawed the side of his snout and he whimpered, showing a sign he wanted to quit. I got off him and he stood up and bowed his head. I bowed mine. The rest of the Pack starts bowing their heads at me. Today was the day where a new Pack is born with a new leader. A leader who will care for them and who will fight till the end. A leader was finally chosen.
