... { " It's good to have someone who can help you. " }

My eyes widened in shock. "W-what?"

I had a small feeling he was up to something. From that conversation I overheard at school between him and that other guy, I knew it was big. But this was not what I expected.

Wyatt chuckled humourlessly. "Big surprise right?" He lowered his head, sat down beside me and continued. "It sounds crazy, but it was home. They were my only family."

"Family?" I asked in a puzzled tone.

He nodded and looked up at me, his glistening eyes filled with sorrow. "My parents were killed in the middle of a gunfight. So my older brother began to take care of me and pretty soon we ended up in a gang."

"Although we were all close, there were certain jobs that had to be done. And many members risked their lives doing these jobs, including my brother." Wyatt ran a hand through his already ruffled hair and sighed deeply. "One night he didn't come back from an assignment. I never saw him again."

"Wyatt..." I whispered his name, afraid that my voice will crack and I'll end up bursting into tears.

He rested his warm hand over my cold one and gave me a reassuring smile. "It's okay, really." He continued, "Our gang was different from the rest. We had rules, and everyone followed them without argument. One of these rules was, you must not lose the drugs you are selling-"

"You sold d-drugs?"

Wyatt stopped and let out a soft whisper of a breath. "I'm sorry, Ivory. I had no other choice-"

"B-but you could've left the gang, you could've done s-something to get away." I told him with a worried tone. Why did he have to do all of this?

"I had nowhere else to go." He stood up and ran both hands through his hair. "I had no other choice, Ivory. I stuffed up big time, I know that. But some things in life can't be helped. You just have to deal with it yourself."

He stood there staring at the plum tree ahead. I understood what he meant. He was right, there were some things you can't control in life, and sometimes you do have to deal with it. But, it's always good to have someone out there who can help you through all your struggles. It's good to open up, it's good to tell someone what's stressing you out.

It's good to have someone who can help you.

As Wyatt continued to stare at the tree, I did something I thought I would never do to someone. Especially him.

I stood up, I walked over to him, and grabbed his shoulders. He swiftly turned around, confusion painted on his tear-streaked face.

I wrapped my arms tightly around his thin waist and buried my head into his hard chest. "W-what are you doing?" He said, his body stiffening at the sudden contact of our bodies.

"Sometimes hugs speak louder than words," I whispered, still unable to talk due to my disorder. But he still heard me as he rested his face on my shoulder and hugged me back.

"Thank you, Ivory." His voice was muffled into my neck, his hot breath leaking down to my chest.

"You don't have to do this alone anymore."
