... { " Oh god, what have I done? " }After letting go of Wyatt, we both decided it was time to go home. I looked up at the horizon and noticed the giant orange ball of light was slowly descending down behind the hills. The clear sky was tainted with warm colours and everything at that moment was perfect, including the boy standing beside me.
His hands were shoved into the front pockets of his jeans, and his breaths were light and misty as the cool air settled in. "Are you right to walk home?" He asked, turning his broad shoulders towards me.
I gave him a gentle nod. He nodded back and began to walk away when he suddenly stopped. "I'll see you tomorrow then?"
Even though his back was turned and he couldn't see me, I smiled widely at him. "Yeah, see you tomorrow."
My walk home was tranquil. The darkness had creeped its way into my vision, but the streetlamps glowed a white light, guiding me to my street. Once I spotted my house, I eagerly picked up the pace. I reached the front door and turned the knob before I opened the door.
A small gasp escaped my mouth when I was met with the dark eyes of my mother. She was home early, very early. "Mum-"
"Where the hell were you?" Her voice was harsh and sharp, cutting into my skin like a knife.
"I-I was at the park."
"And why were you at the park instead of school?"
A large lump of nerves were lodged in the back of my throat, I couldn't answer her.
"I got a call from the school explaining to me that you weren't at school, I said that you left for school this morning, but that didn't seem to be the case to them." She waved her hands up in the air and scoffed. "Ivory, do you realise how embarrassing that was for me to say? Why did you skip school?"
"I-I was just at the park with someone, he needed my h-help." My breaths were starting to pick up. I felt sick to my stomach, the confrontation was almost too much.
"Was it that Wyatt boy?" She glared.
"Yes." I couldn't meet her eyes anymore, I glanced down at my shoes, wanting to be anywhere but under my mother's cold stare.
She huffed and paused for a moment, before speaking. "That boy is bad news, Ivory. I don't want you seeing or speaking to him again."
My head shot up and my eyes widened. "But mum-"
"I don't wanna hear it!"
My eyes stung as hot salty tears filled them. My legs, although weak, carried me to my room. How could she do this? I only skipped school once, why was she overreacting? Once I reached my room I slammed the door shut and collapsed onto my bed. Waves of shivers ran through me and I buried my head into my pillow, suffocating the sobs that escaped my mouth. I soon began to drift into sleep.

The next morning was gloomy. My eyes were puffy from crying all night. Mum was already at work before I woke up, so I was relieved to not have to see her after our fight last night when I had breakfast with Tommy.
"Have a great day Tommy." I gave my little brother a soft smile as he nodded and ran off to all his friends at the front gates of his school.
I began to walk towards my school. The walk was dreadfully long, and lonely. I hated to even think this, but I kind of miss Wyatt. Just a little bit. The tiniest, tiniest bit. But I can't see him anymore now. A heavy weight grew on top of my chest as I realised, I don't want to avoid him. But I have to. My mother would kill me if she found out I was rebelling against her strict instruction.
Oh god, what have I done?
