I had met with Caroline before Niklaus got here because I wanted her to know that we meant no harm to her or her people.
Also because i did not want her to judge us based on how we behaved in Mystic Falls.
She had ensured me that she held no past grudges and I was happy to hear that.
I was just about to leave when a voice made me stop " Leaving without seeing me Elijah , I am hurt that you forgot me so soon" it said.
I immediately turned around and found Katerina smirking at me with her hands folded across her chest.
"Katerina" I murmured.
She looked as good as the last day I saw her and had regretted it more than anything
"Your staring " she said in a smug voice.
"I cant help but stare, my dear Katerina" I said and she blushed.
Suddenly I remembered that she was supposed to be dead and but was alive, well as alive an vampire could be.
"Not that I don't love that your alive and well Katerina, I would like to know how you are alive ?" I asked her.
"I actually have people that prefer me alive and by people I mean Caroline" she said coming closer.
Just as I was to come closer to her too , my phone buzzed. I answered it not hiding the irritation in my voice.
" What Hayley ?" I said noticing how Katerina's face turned sour as soon as I spoke her name.
"I was just wondering when you and Klaus would come back ? no need to get so grumpy about it and why are you so mad, you are never mad at me" she said.
Just then Katerina snatched my phone and answered for me "maybe he's finally fed up of you, you ever think that?".
"Elena? why do you have Elijah's phone?" Hayley asked confused.
"No pup, guess again" Katerina said with a smirk.
"Katherine" Hayley screeched.
"Yup, the one and only" Katerina said smugly.
Hayley was about to say something when she cut her off "sorry to cut this reunion pup but me and Elijah have to go. Byee" she said and cut the all.
" So I guess we have a lot of catching up to do huh Elijah ?" she asked me.
" Yes, we do my Katerina, we do" I said smiling and she gave me one of those rare genuine smiles that she gave only to those she trusted.
We were talking about anything and every thing and were getting close to each other and just as our lips were about to connect-
"Elijah!" a voice said making us jump.
"What Stefan ?" Katerina asked him.
"if you cant see that we are busy then I will tell you that we are busy. So go now" she said again.
"Not that I want to disturb you Katherine and trust me I don't , Elijah is needed at New Orleans" Stefan said and soon as he said it I was up.
After Stefan told me what was happening , I decided that I needed to go to New Orleans.
"I'll go with you" Katerina said and I didn't argue.

She looked at me like she was debating whether she could tell me or not.
