Why not bring them back?

Rocking baby Regina in my arms, I turn the pages of the grimoire which was once possessed by our mother Esther. "What are you looking for?" Caroline comes forward asking me as she squints her eyes. Taking in the yellow and crinkly pages of the book.

"Wondering about what would be the side effects of being birthed by a vampire mother. I mean there must be something changed in their body or mind. Maybe they'll have fangs?" I speak my thoughts out loud. Waiting for whatever Caroline would say, good or bad. Probably bad since it was her child we were talking about.

"To be truthful Freya, im also concerned about them. I know one good thing that's come out of it. They don't seem to have the Gemini curse. Kat and I had a witch look at it" She informs me. Which makes me question how a long lying curse would be gone in a matter of seconds.

"Don't you think there must be-" I start but am stopped by Niklaus as he looks at us annoyed.

"Weren't we supposed to start the spell ages ago?" He snarks at which Caroline looks at him like he's gone absurd and he instantly flushes a deep scarlet. As I see Katerina mouth the word 'whipped' to Caroline.

"No wait guys, Klaus is right. We need to get started right now. I have been putting this off for too long now" She says standing up and starting to make a circle. At which I stand up as well and give Regina to Klaus who takes her with open arms, cooing at the small child.

"Will you be able to bring back two people at the same time care? I know you brought back Kol and all. But Bonnie was there to help you as well. I have a bad feeling about this" Katerina comes and proposes are doubts which project some of mine as well

"We can worry about that later Kat, let's try and bring them back first. We'll take it one step at a time" Caroline says, but it does nothing to dispel our concern.

"Whatever you say"

I hear the words as Caroline chants, standing in an upright position around the circle she and I had created. Katerina was holding both the children in her hands as they began to cry, Klaus moving over to her as he tries and succeeds in calming them down.

The air roared in our ears as a storm approached. The cost of doing magic this far up required calibre and experience. Both of which I had. Yet I stood there gaping and unable to help as Caroline's nose starts bleeding.

She gasps as her eyes turn dark and black. Black veins prominent under her eyes as her fangs come out. She bites herself, letting the blood flow out and about onto the ground. The candles we had put all around them lit up.

She stumbles all of a sudden as an ear-piercing cry comes from her mouth. Klaus vamps over to her but is stopped by an invisible shield is drawn. She till chants, her voice hoarse as blood comes out her mouth.
A drastic side effect that I'd come to see of dark magic. And as she utters the final word. Her body gives up and falls down.

"Blood" She croaks weakly as Klaus is finally able to reach her. Biting his wrist and giving it to her, and she latches to it. As Niklaus closes his eyes and his lips part. I look away, as Katerina and Elijah do. It was too private for us.

After a while we see Caroline stand up with Klaus in his lead. Both of them flushed and tired. Yet Klaus seemed in a better condition than her.

"It didn't work did it?" I say half-heartedly looking around and seeing no sign of my brother or his lover Sage.

"Why would you say that?" Caroline laughs weakly, her head bobbing against her sleeve to clean the blood off her mouth.

"No offence Miss Forbes, but I dont see our brother Finn or Sage anywhere," Elijah says dryly.

"They are where they are supposed to be" she answers and Klaus shakes his head at her, chuckling all the way.

"What my love here is trying to say, is that as a precautionary measure, we had Sage and Finn transported below the mikealson manner where they are locked in a spelled place which the bennet witch helped create," Klaus says chuckling and I feel a sudden pang of uselessness because of the fact that they didn't ask me to do it.

"Why didnt you ask me Niklaus?" I ask and he looks surprised at my question as if he'd never thought of it, and maybe he hadn't, maybe I was just overreacting about it.

"Im sure Niklaus didnt mean to do it, sister, maybe he and miss Forbes were too busy frolicking around to care," he says an amused smile on his face which told me none of his jabs at Niklaus were real

"I think we should head home soon to take care of the original brother and his lover before someone in the compound thinks it's a good idea to make them free," Katerina says and we all laugh, taking in a feeling of accomplishment at finally something going our way.

"Yes we should"
