The Affection of Natsu and Lucy

Chapter 11: Running Away From The Pain

“LUCY!!!!!!!!!!!” Natsu shouted. The cafe had fallen silent, curiosity slowly getting the better of the customers. Geez. Don’t these people know how to mind their own business? Guess not.

Oh my God. What am I supposed to do now? Turn around? Or ignore Natsu? My mind raced with thoughts running wild. Loke looked at me across the table, looking like he’s about to bite his fingernails. Giving me a what-do-we-do? look.

“Umm, excuse me sir but please do not yell in the restaurant.” A waiter said, holding Natsu back. Sounding like Natsu’s getting really pissed, he pushed the waiter out of the way, sending him flying onto a table, plates and pretty decoration hit the neat floor with broken fragments and ruined flowers. I heard Lisanna shouting Natsu to stop, since Natsu is starting to cause trouble in the restaurant.

“Loke, hurry lets get out of here!” I hissed, as I stood up from my seat.

I felt something wrapped my bare arm.

“LUCY, DON’T IGNORE ME!” Nats clamoured, Natsu’s faces tells it all; Anger, Desperation and some relief laced.

Quick….what do I say!

“Don’t touch me! I don’t know who you are, so please leave me alone!” I yelled. Forcing my arm out of Natsu’s grasp.

Natsu’s eyes widened. “L-Lucy?! What are you-”

I looked at my surroundings and noticed that customers stood up from their seat and came to watch the scene. Oh God. What do I do?

I gulped. I had to prove I don’t know Natsu….I had to..

“Gate of the Maiden! Virgo!” I yelled, pointing out my golden key.

A golden glow flashed and then appeared Virgo. My legs nearly dropped, due to a huge drop of my magic fell, using two spirits. But that’s not important to me right now.

Natsu looked at me. “Lucy? What are you doing?”

I bit my lip and turned to Loke. “Loke, can you….”

Loki's face uneasy but he nodded, willing to take a risk. I then took a breath. “Virgo, Loke, don’t hurt Natsu. Just stop him, okay?”

“LUCY!” Natsu yelled.

I quickly ran for it, I pushed the doors open and into the glowing night. I looked back and saw Natsu hesitating to fight Virgo and Loke. He knows he can’t. They’re his friends.

Then, as the restaurant doors slammed close. All I heard was distant crashing and the customers gasping and reacting to the fuss….and Natsu’s voice, calling out my name.

I shut my eyes tightly closed. Forget...Forget…Guilt and regret stirred inside me like stew and before I knew it, tears were filling up my eyes and began to run down my cheek, due to no room in my eyes. Natsu...Natsu…

P.O.V. Natsu Dragneel

“Don’t touch me! I don’t know who you are, so please leave me alone!”

What does Lucy mean? I don’t understand….she treated me like I was someone else… I don’t get it. I don’t fucking get this bullshit.

“LUCY!!” I roared. I had to go after her. When I took a step, Loke stepped right in front of me.

“I’m sorry, Natsu. But you mustn’t follow her.” Loke said.

I grinded my teeth. “What’s wrong with you?! Let me through!”

Loke shook his head. “I’m sorry. But I can’t. I’m following orders.”

“Please sir! Don’t cause trouble!” The injured waiter shouted, sweat pouring down his face.

Why is Lucy doing this to me?! I don’t get it.

Virgo appeared, flying out of her hole she made on the ground. “Please do not proceed any further.”

I clenched my fists. They’re not letting me through, huh? “Are you trying to start a fight?”

“Natsu, it’s more like you’re starting it. We are only asking you to not follow our summoner.” Loke said, his arm straight out, in front of me.

Why, I don’t get it. The grasp on my palms grew tighter, then;

I snapped.

I let go an uppercut to the head, sending Loki to the ceiling. A thud was heard when he hit the ground. I hit him. I hit a companion. I didn’t know what got to me. I just hit Loke. Am I stupid?

Virgo came running toward me. “ Guren Karyū Ken!(Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist!)” I yelled. Rapidly punching Virgo with my hands. Each time Virgo got in contact with my fists, an explosion collides and flames burned the table sheets near by. Guests in the restaurant couldn’t watch anymore. They screamed and quickly ran out of the building.

“Please! Stop!” The waiter shouted. “The cafe is on fire!”

“Loke! Virgo!” I yelled. “Don’t you want Lucy to return to Fairy Tail!?”

They both said. “Even if we do, it’s her choice.”

I hit a companion. I don’t think I can do anymore.

“Just give up.” Virgo said. “Please respect Princess’ wishes.”

What did I do? I gave up. I didn’t want to do this anymore. Seeing Loke with a little blood pouring down his forehead and seeing Virgo with a few bruises on her face made me feel like I betrayed them. They were companions, yet I hurt them..I went too far.

"Natsu? I think you should go home for the day...." Lisanna said, adjusting my collar on the shirt I was wearing.

"Yeah...sorry about that Lisanna...." I said under my breath, looking at the floor. "Sorry I ruined the date."

Lisanna shook her head. "No no, it's okay. You just wanted to ask Lucy about leaving Fairy Tail." Her hands gracefully moving away from my collar.

Darn it. What was wrong with Lucy? The biggest possibility is that she's acting like she doesn't know me. Is there a reason? 

"Hey, Lisanna. Why would someone act like they don't know their friends or something?" I asked. Lisanna stared at me with her eternal blue eyes. She then looked away, summoning her answer.

"Maybe.....they're trying to avoid something..." Lisanna whispered out.

Avoid? What is Lucy avoiding then? Me? What did I do to her? 

Lisanna smiled. "Let's go back. You're probably tired already."

I nodded in agreement and we both walked out of the restaurant, leaving the petrified waiter, one of the only people left who watched the scene until the end. 

Dammit NATSU FELL FOR IT! >o< !!!!
