Wait, You Too?

The Sides were doing a better job at opening up to each other. Even when their openness allowed the group to grow closer, Virgil and Logan had their own secrets they kept to themselves. Unbeknownst to each other, they each had the same secret, just at different severities. Deceit could tell the two were hiding something and it wasn't necessarily a secret that they were close, so the snake man decided it would be a better idea to wait until Logan and Virgil were at least comfortable to tell each other what they're hiding.

One day, Deceit was wandering in the hallway and glanced at the two Sides of the left-brain. He didn't see anything out of the ordinary when he took notice of Virgil wearing big headphones (he associated them with Audible or Spotify) or Logan focused on "Sherlock" whilst eating a toasted English muffin coated with Crofters jam, but he still felt in his scales that both of them were hiding something. It took every ounce of willpower within Deceit not to torture whatever secrets they had out of them. Instead of doing something he knew Remus would approve of, he looked around for Patton and Roman and suggested they go to the park with him. They caved after a long amount of time (though not as long as Deceit expected) and they proceeded to leave Virgil and Logan alone in their humble abode; he would've called for Remus, but he knew the trash bag would cling to Roman like a lemur.

Virgil placed the headphones around his neck and looked around their home. Logan paused "Sherlock" and looked around as well. The two stopped in front of each other and barely reacted.

"Hey, Logan, where is everyone?" Virgil asked awkwardly.

"Oh, I thought I heard Deceit mention the park," Logan answered.

Logan bit into his toasted English muffin and it took Virgil a lot to not flinch at how loud he found the crunch. He initially wouldn't mind the sound of it if music masked it, but it wasn't the case then.

"So, what do you think you might do?" Logan asked.

"Well, grabbing a snack and watching 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Sounds ideal," Virgil answered.

Virgil tightened his sweater around him as he made his way to the fridge. He felt relieved when he saw that his jello was still on the left side of the middle shelf just like he left it. The two looked at each other as Virgil made his way to his room with jello in his hands. As he was preparing his blanket fort and movie, Virgil couldn't help but wonder if Logan was suspicious. It took him a long time to gain Logan's respect and he didn't even know everything about the emo. In his mind, if Logan ever found out about Virgil's big secret (something that he wouldn't tell the Dark Sides due to already knowing their reactions indirectly), Logan would just belittle him like he was Roman's clone coated in purple (well, he kinda was, but that was besides the point). On the other hand, as what Virgil assumed was a friend, he didn't think Logan should find out from anyone else but himself.

While Virgil was in his room, Logan took some time to think while "Sherlock" was playing on TV. He had expressed strong frustrations towards the idea of being seen as a joke and the only Side who seemed to truly respect that was Virgil. The way he saw things, if Virgil ever found out about what all was going on in his mind, any and all hopes of being taken seriously by anyone would come crashing down. Although, he didn't know if he looked suspicious to Virgil, so he figured he might be a factor of some of the uncertainties that Virgil might have swirling in his head. Logan felt conflicted between keeping Virgil from seeing him as a joke and decreasing the amount of uncertainties Virgil was probably going through.

Logan sighed and paused the episode of "Sherlock" since it reached the point where he could memorize everything that happened in the episode, like so many others, and made his way to Virgil's room. He felt something odd at the pit of his stomach and, though he researched that it was a sign of nervousness or fear, he didn't know if it was caused by his own worries or by approaching Virgil's room.

Logan took a deep breath as he tried to knock on the door. Before his knuckles could touch the door, Virgil opened the door and the nerd could've sworn he saw the emo drop something from his mouth that was attached to a necklace. They both states at each other unsure of who should start.

"Logan...there's something I think you should know," Virgil looked nervous upon telling Logan.

"Well, I wish to express something toward you, too," Logan responded while trying to sound monotone.

They both looked away and were surrounded in silence before Logan cleared his throat.

"Now, Einstein, Thomas Jefferson, and Robin Williams have all been speculated to have this and they are all respected in their own fields. That being said, I hope you can still respect me in my field when I tell you that I have Asperger's Syndrome," Logan revealed.

The nerd flinched without knowing what to expect. However, what he didn't expect to hear was Virgil's voice saying "Oh my god! You're autistic, too?" Logan opened his eyes and noticed Virgil rubbing the back of his neck.

"Y-you're on the spectrum, too?" Logan asked for the sake of certainty.
The two of them looked at each other for a while and, for some reason, could easily trust what they confided in each other.

By the time everyone else came back home, Deceit could feel that Logan and Virgil were hiding something from each other and was able to smile to himself. Unbeknownst to him, the pair were in Logan's room watching "The Secret of NIMH" as Logan ate his Crofters and Virgil clung to a plushy of Jack Skellington.
