Logan was trying to reason with Roman while in front of his mansion on behind the waterfall on the side of the mountain, but Roman was being too stubborn. Logan started to feel nauseous and lightheaded.
"Hello? Nikola Teslame, can you hear me? I told you to leave the overacting to me!" he faintly heard Roman say.
"H-How high are we again?" Logan asked with fatigue in his voice while clinging to his stomach.
"Um, 8025 feet? I'm not exactly sure. I tried to get as close to the peek as possible while maintaining the mansion," the Prince answered as he started to genuinely look concerned.
Logan tried to keep his eyes open while finding a stable path. In his fatigue state, he slipped off a trail and heared Roman's cries for him as he blacked out while falling alongside the waterfall. While unconscious, he saw his life flash before his eyes which included what led to his fall in the first place.
Roman and Logan were arguing in the mind palace again. It ended up being louder than usual, even with the custom earplugs everyone else summoned for themselves.
"Maybe if you stuck your head out of a book every once in a while, you would see how much better the world is with creativity and risk!" Roman declared.
"And maybe if you didn't focus too much of your time on your fokin' fairy tales, you would see that there are severe consequences for taking too much risks without enough logic!" Logan explained and Virgil chuckled at the fact that he made a pun that Patton was too innocent to catch.
"That's it! Ernest Hemingway and Albert Einstein have put people like you in your place! Now it's my turn! Don't expect me to leave my mountainside waterfall mansion unless I am summoned by Thomas!" the thespian announced.
Before Logan could take the chance to warn him of the risks, Roman disappeared to where Logan assumed said mountain would be.
Ever since then, for several days, Logan thought he would be able to relax, but found himself unable to concentrate since he kept expecting Roman's presence only to remember that he's moping on the mountain. Logan expressed such a thought to Patton and the father figure made the claim that Logan missed Roman. Logan dismissed that claim with the idea that he's concerned about Roman not knowing about the altitude sickness and height without guard rails.
It didn't take too long for Logan to decide to go to the mountain himself since he knew that there were multiple reasons for summoning him to be a bad idea. It took a long while, but Logan climbed up the mountain without equipment either because he was more focused on seeing Roman or because he wanted to prove he can be just as bold as Roman. He took a deep breath and knocked on Roman's door. Logan tried to tell him that he might want to head home and Roman just demanded Logan to admit that he needed him. It led to more bickering and failure to get Roman to listen to reason until Logan got more tired and nauseous to the point where he blacked out while falling next to the waterfall.
Logan expected some other variation of himself to take his place, but what he didn't expect was waking up at all let alone waking up to a soaked Roman clinging to his shoulder with a concerned expression on his face.
"Sweet Zeus. You're awake!" Roman declared.
"Wh-What happened?" Logan asked while trying to sit up.
"You fell by the waterfall and dove after you and summoned us back. Falling on water is a really hard landing from-" Roman stated, but then stopped as if something else caught his attention.
"It was the height, wasn't it?" the Prince asked.
Once Logan sat up and heard the question, he looked at Roman and, with a monotone voice, said "Do you really want to know?". Roman nodded with a worried expression which led to Logan confirming the height was the cause.
Roman looked away and thought about what happened. He had experienced the need to sleep more and eat less while on the mountain and he just thought it was a coincidence. Not only did he almost lose Logan, but that could've been himself falling to his death if he was careless.
"Wait, how did you know about the surface of the water during the fall? And what led you to speculating the height was the cause?" the teacher asked with curiosity.
"Well... I may or may not have been watching Game Theory and Film Theory after Patton told me MatPat was a thespian," he explained shyly.
"Logan? Why did we do those actions without thinking things through?" he asked the nerd while simultaneously asking himself.
"Well, I don't know about you, but I guess I wanted to show that I can be as strong and bold as you claim to me," Logan admitted while playing with his hands.
"I guess that's why I stayed in that mansion specifically," Roman exclaimed.
The two stayed in silence and Roman just sat next to Logan on the couch.
"Guess we just had the need for self validation," Logan claimed.
Roman wordlessly agreed and looked at their reflection in the inactive television screen. They could tell that they both have a lot to work on and they could tell that helping each other out might not be such a bad idea.
